No wifi required
This is a good video doorbell. It works as well as any of the more popular brands, the difference is that this one don’t require a network connection because it comes with a screen. The video quality is decent on both and the volume can be heard throughout the house so I’m loving it

Great idea bad product
I really wanted this to replace the usual WiFi doorbells. On paper it makes sense, direct 2.4 GHz link, no apps, no cloud, no subscriptions, no features being taken out and placed behind paywalls (Wyze…) Basically like a baby monitor for your front door which is exactly what I was aiming for. Something simple that would work great for an office or small business.Unfortunately mine just didn’t work right. Every time the button gets pressed the indoor screen reboots instead of showing video. No feed, no delay, just straight up resets (yes, I’ve hit the pinhole reset button on screen and pressed reset on camera). Tried everything, full charge on both units, keeping them close, further apart, different spots around the house, same result. Either freezing or reboot loop with no video feed.Even if I ignore that and assume I got a bad unit, there are still some limitations. No live view option which is a big one. You only see something when someone presses the button. No touchscreen either so navigation feels dated. Battery life on the door unit doesn’t seem great if you’re expected to charge it every month or so as per instructions.Video quality and angle would probably be fine if it actually stayed on long enough to use, but reliability kills it for me. The whole point of a doorbell cam is consistency and this thing just lacks it despite a 2.4ghz link connecting in milliseconds as compared to several seconds on certain Wi-Fi doorbells despite of having up to date well configured equipment. If it worked properly I’d probably rate it higher just for avoiding WiFi, but with the issues I had it’s hard to fully trust it. I’d say it’s a gamble unless quality control improves.

One way design and lack of motion detection make usefulness limted.
This doorbell camera is about as bare bones as it gets. While it technically does what it’s supposed to do, it doesn’t do it particularly well, and it feels like a lot of corners were cut to keep things simple. The biggest advantage is how straightforward the setup is. The doorbell connects directly to the included monitor, so there’s no need for WiFi, apps, or subscriptions. That makes it appealing if you want something completely self-contained or don’t want to deal with another device on your network. It was ready to go right out of the box, which is nice. Although it doesn’t include a micro sd card if you’d like to capture doorbell press events.Unfortunately, that simplicity comes with a long list of tradeoffs. The video quality is pretty underwhelming, with a low frame rate that makes motion look choppy and less useful if you’re trying to clearly see who’s at the door. The monitor itself doesn’t help matters, it’s small, dim, and the colors are washed out, very reminiscent of a cheap early 2000s car DVD player. That combination makes it even harder to make out details.Audio is also hit or miss, both in clarity and connection stability, so conversations don’t always come through cleanly.Functionality is very limited. The monitor is essentially one way only, it only activates when someone physically presses the doorbell. There’s no way to check the camera on demand, no motion detection, and no notifications of any kind beyond the button press. Once the video feed times out, you’re completely locked out unless someone rings the bell again, which feels like a pretty big limitation for a security device. There are also some usability annoyances. The doorbell sound loops continuously on both the monitor and the unit instead of just ringing once, which can get irritating quickly, even though you can turn the volume down. The interface on the monitor feels very dated and not particularly intuitive, so navigating settings isn’t as smooth as it should be.Build quality is another weak point. Both the monitor and doorbell feel lightweight and somewhat flimsy, especially when handling or mounting. The camera’s field of view is narrower than expected for a doorbell camera, so you may not capture as much of your entryway as you’d like. Low light performance is also lacking, making it harder to see clearly at night or in dim conditions. At around $45 to $50, the value just isn’t great. There are often app based doorbell cameras in the same price range that offer significantly better video quality, motion detection, remote access, and overall functionality. Unless you specifically need a no WiFi, fully self contained setup, there are better options out there for the money.Overall rating: 2.6 out of 5Pros• No WiFi or subscription required• Simple, out of the box setup• Direct connection between doorbell and monitor• Can capture doorbell press events to micro sd cardCons• Dim, small monitor with washed out colors• Low video quality and frame rate• Weak and inconsistent audio• No motion detection or remote viewing• One way monitor only• Continuous looping doorbell sound• Cheap build quality• Narrow camera field of view• Outdated, unintuitive interface• Fixed video timeout with no override• Poor low light visibility• Weak value for the price
