My Kitchen Scale Just Got a Sidekick and My Baking is Grateful!
My relationship with kitchen scales has been a journey. I started with a basic digital one, which was fine for measuring flour by the cup (converted to grams, because I was trying to be fancy). Then I got into baking, real baking, the kind that requires measuring yeast in amounts smaller than a sneeze. My old scale just laughed at me, displaying a defiant “0g” until I’d dumped in enough yeast to leaven a small car. Clearly, I needed more precision. And maybe a little more capacity for when I decided to make a truly epic batch of cookies. That’s when the KitchenAid Dual Platform Digital Kitchen and Food Scale entered my life.I saw the two platforms and immediately thought, “It’s a scale with a buddy!” The large platform handles the heavy lifting – flour, sugar, that giant bowl of dough. It’s got capacity for days (up to 11 pounds!). But the real star, for my baking needs anyway, is the smaller, precision platform. This thing measures in tiny increments, perfect for those microscopic amounts of yeast, salt, or spices that make all the difference. It’s like having a regular scale and a jeweler’s scale had a very useful baby.Using them together is where the magic happens. The dual display shows both weights at the same time. I can be measuring flour for the main dough on the big side and simultaneously portioning out a minuscule amount of fancy sea salt for a topping on the small side. I feel like a mad scientist in a culinary lab, meticulously weighing out ingredients with pinpoint accuracy. My cat is probably wondering why I’m suddenly so focused on small piles of white powder. The tare function works flawlessly on both platforms, which is essential for adding multiple ingredients to the same bowl without doing complicated math (my brain is not a calculator, especially before tea). The scale itself is sleek and doesn’t take up too much counter space, which is a minor miracle in my crowded kitchen. If you’re tired of your scale ignoring tiny, crucial ingredients, if you need capacity for larger batches but precision for delicate measurements, and you enjoy the feeling of having a highly capable kitchen sidekick, this dual platform scale is fantastic. It’s well-made, incredibly accurate, and has made my baking (and general cooking) much more consistent and less prone to accidental ingredient avalanches. My baked goods are happier, and so is my sanity. I’m thoroughly impressed with this two-in-one wonder.

Very hardy
I ordered this one because I thought I killed my last one while making sourdough bread. This scale is my husband’s pride and joy and one of the only things in the kitchen that he claims as his for making pizza. Imagine my panic when the scale stopped working. I dropped water on it and didn’t realize how much went into the scale. I kept the scale in the cabinet while crossing my fingers that this one arrived before my husband got the urge to start the pizza dough process again. Thankfully, it did. Expect the other scale started working again after fully drying out, I guess on the inside. I have decided to keep this scale as an emergency backup in case I do indeed actually fully kill the scale in the future.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Precision Perfection – The Best Scale I’ve Ever Owned!
If I could give this **6 stars**, I would. 🌟 This is hands-down the **GOAT of kitchen scales**. The **dual platform** feature is genius — I can measure both large and micro quantities without needing a second scale. Whether I’m weighing flour for baking or seasoning for precision recipes, this scale handles it all effortlessly. ⚖️🍽️It’s more **expensive** than basic models, but you’re paying for **exceptional accuracy**, sleek **features**, and the reliability of **KitchenAid**. The **scale size** is compact but big enough to handle most mixing bowls, and it has a sturdy feel without being heavy. It’s also super **easy to use** — intuitive controls, quick response time, and easy-to-read display.Only wish? That it was **rechargeable** instead of battery-powered. 🔋 But even with that, this scale is worth every penny.

Terrible design decisions lead to inconsistent measurements
Before I bought this scale I checked the reviews and found a lot of users reporting inconsistent measurements. Easy to test, I thought, so I bought it.Upon taking this scale out of the package, I found that the plastic shell on the bottom is bowed outward in the middle. The result is that, when placed upon a flat surface, the scale wobbles. Obviously this is going to lead to inaccuracy because even subtly different placement of an item on the scale will shift the balance of the scale itself. I’ll bet this is a manufacturing defect, and probably not an issue with every scale of this model. So I’ve ordered a replacement and will give that one a shot before completely abandoning it.However, even if I receive a properly manufactured scale, I don’t think it’s going to produce especially accurate results. I say this for three reasons:*The scale which measures large amounts of weight is not in the middle of the chassis.*The chassis itself is plastic, and doesn’t seem to be reinforced to prevent it from flexing under load.*The entire scale rests on six rubber feet instead of the usual four, but they’re not placed to give equal relief to the balance points of the scale. So in short, if one were to place a moderate amount of weight on the large scale (supposedly capable of accurately weighing 11#), I suspect the weight will be distributed unevenly to the plastic base, which will flex, and due to the placement of the feet, the scale will not be able to support the flexing evenly. This will cause inconsistent results. Thus my conclusion that this scale cannot possibly produce accurate results based on its design. But sure, I’ll give the replacement a try first.I bought this to replace my 13+ year old OXO (an updated model is linked below) which is a fantastic scale and has remained accurate for the entirety of its life. The only reason I am replacing it is that the LCD has failed. After 13 years. If this scale stinks, spend more and get the OXO:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079D9B82WIf that’s a bit too expensive, get the Ozeri:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004164SRA

The smaller scale is not accurate, very disappointed. The reading often keeps changing for no reason, so it cannot be relied on. Shame.Edit: It suddenly died well before reaching its second year… Nothing could be done to revive it.

Like most Kitchen Aid products, this is high quality and looks great. The dual scale is brilliant for measuring small amounts like 7g of yeast when making bread for example. Overall an excellent purchase.

I like it. I like being able to measure the smaller gram quantities and my old scale wasn’t sensitive enough.
