Improved TV sound and functionality in a small package
I want to start by giving this 5 stars but with a caveat. It is a five star device as long as you understand that it’s not a 5.1 surround sound system and have the appropriate expectations. The Roku Streambar SE combines the functionality of a compact soundbar with the added function of a Roku streaming device which is two great things to have in one package.First I’ll talk about the device itself and some advantages. The device has a compact design that easily blends into any home entertainment setup. It doesnt take up much room below the TV like a 2 foot long sound bar would. It features a couple decent speakers that deliver clear and relatively immersive sound. Compared to just TV speakers, there is a big jump in audio quality of your movies, shows, and music. There is a noticeable amount of bass, mids, and voice clarity. But it’s not going to be as good as a larger soundbar with a dedicated subwoofer.I love the Roku functionality and that it has 4K, HD, and HDR streaming capabilities versus some of the lower end Roku sticks. You get crisp and vibrant video playback. And all of the apps associated with a Roku device.Setting up the Streambar SE is straightforward with Roku’s guided setup process. It integrates well with any modern TV, offering a user-friendly interface that allows quick access to a wide range of streaming channels and apps. It’s much less complicated than a multi-piece soundbar. As a Roku device, the Streambar SE provides access to thousands of channels and streaming services, including popular platforms like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+. It supports wireless connectivity, allowing you to stream content directly from your smartphone or tablet to the TV screen. This is of course the case for any Roku device. The Price is extremely competitive at netween 80 and a 100 bucks. You get a lot of value for anyone looking for an easy upgrade their TV’s sound quality while gaining access to a versatile streaming device. I keep stating this but having both in one device is very beneficial.Overall, The Roku Streambar SE is an ideal choice for anyone seeking to improve their TV’s audio performance and streaming. Itbhas a very compact design, decent enough sound quality, and a great Roku interface. it’s a great device that caters to someone looking for a simple upgrade, someone with limited space, or someone that just wants better sound and doesn’t need theater surround sound, which is probably a large amount of people.A side note. This is a relatively new model. There is a larger model that slots above it if you want to increase the sound quality. You can also add a subwoofer to this for extra cost which would improve the bass response. It’s nice to have the flexibility.

Great soundbar
Am loving this sound bar. It’s compact in size but gives out great sound. Much better than speaker on 55 inch Samsung tv. It’s in a small area and works well for dialog. Good price. Also there’s a free Roku app to stream on headphones and hearing devices and easy to use. The soundbar was very easy to set up. Am very glad I bought it.

Dang…what a great smart little soundbar!
I wear hearing aids but at night I remove them. I have a Roku TV in the bedroom and have gone through several speakers, soundbars, other ideas to hear the voices unmuffled with no sucess until now…this little soundbar has settings and adjustments to enhance the speach without the background drama music drowning it out. Another feature is that this speaker is smart and has leveling and night settings that reduces the loud comercials, etc. Wonderful!!! Plus, you can easily pair BT earphones too. This thing pairs BT so easy, I was really impressed. I don’t think you would regret buying this soundbar and the price is even astounding for the quality.

Amazing Soundbar With An Okay Remote
We had a need to upgrade the streaming device we use in our home gym, but was also looking to have the option of a better speaker. We are a huge Apple household and wanted the ability to potentially AirPlay music to whatever speaker we selected as well. This Roku Streambar SE solved getting a new streaming device and the audio setup we wanted.Setup of this Streambar was crazy easy. All the needed cables, both an HDMI and optical cable are in the box. What’s nice is you don’t have to really use the optical cable if all you’re going to use on the TV is the Roku. After getting everything plugged in, setup and software update went smoothly as expected with any other Roku device we have purchased. The size of this device is pretty small for a soundbar, but the sound is actually really good. I’ve never had it above 25 out of a 100 and it’s almost too loud. As expected, the louder you get it, it can have some sound issues, but for general use, it works great.I’ve got this setup in Apple HomeKit, which is great for two reasons. First, you can control it through the Apple Home app. Second, it becomes an AirPlay target. You can not only cast video to it, but music as well, which works great. I changed the setting for Fast TV Start, so while it appears off, it can turn on once you start casting music to it. This works super well for quickly sending music to it and then it turns the TV on as well. From a build quality, the soundbar is a solid piece of tech. The remote is the cheap one they traditionally pack with their devices. It’s IR only, does not really control your TV unless your TV allows control through the HDMI, which most do now. I opted to upgrade to their Pro controller, which is also backlit. Wish it shipped with that.Otherwise the performance of the device is great. Easily connected to our WiFi and TV. It has all the apps you will need available in their store. Navigation is pretty quick, but it is a little slow when launching apps, but that’s not a deal breaker.Overall I like this device a lot and it’s great for smaller rooms, home gyms, or potentially a home office. Only things that would make it better are a better remote control (that you can upgrade for additional money) and a faster UI.

I have 3 of these. The first one I might’ve bought from Argos years ago, but they are less obtainable now (?).The fact I have 3 of them speaks for itself. Improves normal TV sound into a richer sound all round. They are a Streambar, so it’s like a platform where your apps are grouped on the main screen, and you have a seperate menu for navigating round the main interface – all very appealing, solid, easy to use, easy to set up, good, solid, stable connectivity, coming with an hdmi to link to the TVs hdmi ARC port.. It sits very neatly, unobtrusively on a shelf as it is a compact size that packs a fair punch. Comes with an easy to use, attractive remote control- with speech search facility too. I have a powerline adapter that is configured to my main internet hub in another room which provides a good solid WiFi connection where I have placed the streambar. Connecting to my WiFi too was a straight forward operation providing internet stability.5 stars out of 5.I did have to purchase a US to UK plug adapter, but that was no big deal. Very pleased with these Roku Streambars. I don’t know why they aren’t more popular 🤷🏻♂️

This sound bar solved a big problem for me. I got an Epson projector for my kids, which was great quality and reasonably priced, but speaker was incredibly awful and it only had one HDMI input and no sound inputs. The Roku sound bar was the only thing I found that fixed the sound issue and allowed using all the streaming services with just a single HDMI port available on my projector. I’m not an audiophile so I can’t comment on the sound quality, but it’s exponentially better than the projector speaker. The Roku services, as usual, are great. It’s also nice and small. Unfortunately it seems Roku has discontinued its sound bars, which is unfortunate given their good reviews. If you can pick one up to fix your projector sound problems it’s worth it.

This is a US device and comes with a US plug attached – it comes with an adaptor so you can plug it in in the UK and we managed to get it up and running, but BBCiplayer wouldn’t work. After a lot of fiddling about and then some searching I eventually discovered that it’s not on the BBC’s list of approved devices, so there is no way to get BBCiplayer to work on this device. We’ve sent it back, because it’s no use to us if we can’t access BBC content.
