Total Disappointment
NOT EVENWORTH 1STAR!Disappointment – Do Not BuyI purchased the Garmin 9‑inch GPS system specifically for my vacation in Barbados, expecting a reliable satellite navigation device. Instead, I’ve been stuck for three days without proper maps or guidance.The unit does not automatically connect to satellites, and when I tried to download maps through Garmin Express, there were no usable maps available for Barbados. The website is a complete runaround, offering no clear instructions or support. The device keeps asking me to search again, but never recognizes the SD card or provides a straightforward way to install the maps I need.For a product marketed as a global GPS navigation system, this is unacceptable. I spent over a hundred dollars on a device that does nothing when I actually need it most. I would strongly recommend that nobody waste their money on this junk. {The website is all about selling you something}Bottom line: unreliable, misleading, and useless for international travel.

This GPS works great and is very easy to use. The screen is clear and a good size, and the voice guidance is loud and accurate. The map are up to date, and route planning has been reliable so far.I really appreciate the speed and red-light camera alerts — they make driving feel safer. It’s nice to have a standalone GPS that doesn’t require a phone or internet connection. Lifetime free map updates are a big plus. Highly recommended.

The screen has a very sharp, bright picture that is easy to see even in direct sunlight, and the touch is very responsive and fast, with no lag time. Setup was easy, and the suction mount sticks very securely to my dash—hasn’t budged since the first use.The interface is intuitive, and allows for easy entry of a destination or settings changes. The voice directions are loud and clear, and the navigation is spot on, with accurate turn-by-turn directions that provide sufficient notice of upcoming exits and turns. I also really like the speed limit and red-light camera notifications, which help to keep me more aware while driving, particularly in unfamiliar territory.
