Fantastic “dumb” outlet plugs
Edit 2021This is a transfer of a review for an earlier but very similar model of the same product from same manufacturer from a few years past**********************************************************************This is one of my favorite electronic gadgets on Amazon. Super simple (dumb) remotes to add home outlet automation in a room for around $20-30. The outlets come pre programmed for the remotes. Although, you can mix and match outlets and remotes from other kits of the same type by “training” . I use command strips to mount the remotes next to existing light switches or in convenient to access places like next to a favorite chair. My favorite remotes have four separate switches plus an “all on / all off” switch. But, I can control more than four lights by grouping two outlets/lights to same switch number. I also have smart switches and lights made by other manufactures. But, I prefer these “dumb” remote outlets over “smart” plugs for most applications. I find it is just easier and faster to click a button than it is to open a smart device, open the app, then select the plug, then activate the switch. It is still faster than asking Alexa (or other smart speaker) to activate the plug if you are near the remote.I can mount multiple remotes in convenient spots to control the same plug or set of plugs. I have purchased around 9 of these outlets in multiple sets. One outlet in one of the sets did not work and I had to send back for replacement within Amazon’s return window. Thus, I would test all the outlets in a set within the return windows even if you do not plan to use all outlets immediately.Pros:-Sooooo easy to set up an use-Flexibility of adding multiple remotes and outlets.-Reasonably priced.-Remotes have reasonably short range so should not interfere with outlets in other rooms.-Works instantly with touch of button.Cons:-Remotes have reasonably short range so would not well control outlets in other rooms or around corners. One of my outlets is around a corner in the room from one of the remotes. When using that remote I sometimes have to press the remote button more than one time to get the outlet to activate.-Outlets are pretty bulky and may prevent the lower wall plug from being used by some transformers. They take up most of the room on a power strip. You can work around this by getting a 3 prong one foot extension cord (sold by Etekcity and other sellers usually in a five pack) that space the remote control outlet away from the plug.-The max current for each outlet is 10amps (which is actually pretty good for a remote outlet). So, you should not use remote outlet for high current items like a heater or A/C. Personally, I would not push more than half those AMPS on these outlets unsupervised.-Dumb remotes that are not expandable to any automation or smartphone control AFAIK.-Outlet control only, I wish they made a small screw in light bulb adapter for direct wire lights that worked with same remotes.

EXCELLENT, DEPENDABLE DEVICE, DESPITE ONE VERY MINOR HICCUP
Overall, this is an excellent, very dependable product, and I’m delighted with it. With one minor exception (listed below), it has worked flawlessly and consistently. I have now used it quite successfully for three months to control two separate, outdoor transformers that power low-voltage perimeter lighting around my house, and it continues to work beautifully — a huge convenience. I wouldn’t hesitate to order it again. The radio signal in the hand-held remote control is powerful enough, in my house, to go at least 50 feet through at least one interior wall to control a transformer in my garage . . . and an equal distance through another wall to a second transformer on my back porch. The maker advertises 100 feet, but I haven’t yet tried it quite that far.I did initially have one very minor hiccup, which was very quick, simple, and easy to fix. I bought the model that comes with multiple plug units, all controlled separately through the same, hand-held remote clicker. The instructions say that — as a customer convenience — the manufacturer has pre-set the various buttons on the hand-held remote control to separately operate each of the numbered plug units. But either the manufacturer failed to pre-set the clicker to correspond to the numbered plug units on my particular order — or, if they did, then the pre-sets were somehow lost when I installed the two plug units. However, if you follow the printed instructions, it only takes a few seconds to manually re-set the clicker to each of the plug units. You just press a button on the side of the plug unit, hold the button down for five seconds, and bingo!!! . . . it automatically flashes a light to tell you the re-set has been successful. Since doing this quick, manual reset on each of the plug units, it has worked flawlessly. I love it.I suspect this problem with the factory pre-set may not have been just a one-time fluke, because I had precisely the same problem with the pre-sets when I ordered a second set of the multiple units. However, as I said, the problem is easily corrected in five seconds by following the written instructions. I do like the device very much. It’s a HUGE convenience and has greatly simplified my life. Nice design.CAUTION: If you use this device like I do to control the transformer for low-voltage outdoor lighting . . . and if that transformer has a built-in electric eye to turn the outdoor lights on at dusk and off at dawn, as mine does . . . you need to be aware that the electric eye on the transformer has a built-in 10-second delay to prevent it from being turned on by passing auto headlights. That 10-second delay will cause you to think the remote control isn’t working, when actually it’s working perfectly. Could that 10-second delay have caused me to think the factory preset on the remote control device wasn’t working? That’s possible. But, just to be sure, I would recommend that the manufacturer double-check outgoing devices to make certain the factory pre-set is being properly done on the assembly line — to make certain my own experience wasn’t just a fluke limited to me.Like several other reviewers, I do wish the manufacturer — if possible — could redesign the plug units so that they don’t cover BOTH plugs on the same wall outlet, making it difficult or impossible to plug a second appliance into the same wall outlet. It’s the same overlap problem one encounters with the plug-type charging devices for so many cell phones and other electronic devices.

Works very well! The only annoying part is the size of the modules, they tend to cover the adjacent plugq

This travel adapter is exactly what I expected for the international trips. As a business woman, I need to travel a lot and it is always a trouble for me to bring lots of adapters to fit for different countries n regions. Now this one suits all US, UK , EU and AU plugs in a single unit. The sliding is smooth and easy to switch into different funtional places and I also appreciate how solid it is when plugging into the wall unit. I have been able to use for my phone, my labtop, and other devices without any issues.

I originally bought these wireless remote outlets for a solution to a christmas lights problem. Every year our family argues over turning on and off all the garlands/wreathes/Christmas trees/ etc in the house on and off via the outlet plugs – no one wants to do it. We have loads of lit christmas decor – i mean LOADS. So i bought these as an experiment. Long story short, these work like a charm. Instead of going up and manually plugging in each set of christmas lights into the wall outlet you can stand in the middle of the room and push a few buttons. I thought for sure that this was too good to be true, and quite frankly, too cheap of a price to function as described, but it definitely does! It comes decently packaged, with all 6 outlets in a small compact box and two remotes. There is a weird battery type included, which is confusing that they didn’t opt for triple A (AAA) batteries, or even AA. The setup is easy – nothing. You just plug them into your outlets and then plug your item into the unit and you can turn on and off things at the touch of a button. The sockets come numbered on the back so you can tell which outlet corresponds to what number. Although they work great, it would be better if the unit was a bit smaller or more compact. At times it may not allow you to insert another electrical appliance into the same outlet because it takes up too much real estate on the wall. All in all 5/5 for price, function, and quality!Pros:- functions well- has separate on/off buttons so you are not confused if you are turning something on/off in another room (without visual feedback)- programable units – can turn multiple things on/off with one button- range on remotes are ridiculously amazing – i can turn all the christmas lights on inside the house from outside my house- comes with batteriesCons:- weird battery type is annoying- unit is a bit bulky, may prevent you to use other outlet

I have two lamps beside my bed and every day I have to lean over and fumble for the switches to turn them on and off. It is so annoying that sometimes I just give up and use the flash light in my cell phone to light my way into the bedroom. And one day I decided to do something about this, and I am so glad that I did.I find these remote outlets that solve my problem perfectly! Two remotes, one on each end table. I now can turn on either lamp or both of them on and off with ease. It’s like magic!!Good things about this product:1, great build quality. Both the outlet and the remote feels durable and very high quality. They DO NOT feel cheap at all (even thought they are not expensive).2, works out of the box. No programming needed before you can use them. Just pop in the batteries (which are included), and you are good to go. One set of buttons control one outlet, and they have numbers on them so you will know which controls which.3, can be programmed to your needs. If you want one set of buttons to control multiple outlets, you can do it so easily. And the best thing is, you only have to program one remote, the other remote will work as well. I guess they are using the same bands but I really don’t care how they work as long as they work, and they do, like magic.4, long range. You can control your lights from far away, although in most cases this feature is not needed. And you don’t need to point to the outlet you want to control. One thing that can be improved:It would be nice to have more combinations. What I mean is, they now have 5 outlets and 2 remotes package, and 3 outlets and 1 remote package, and 1 outlet one remote package, but what I really need is 2 or 3 outlets and 2 remotes. If they can do this in the future this line of product will be perfect.I have already bought anther for my girlfriends house and I sure will recommend this to any people I know.

Ya he tenido remotos programables y estos han sido por mucho los mejores, excelente recepción a distancia y buenas opciones de programación. Lo único que no me gusta es la fabricación barata que hace que los números del control se borren al cabo de poco tiempo.
