    Pretty good
I bought this primarily to use for a 3.1 home theater setup. It adds a rumble to scenes. It’s no body shaker. It won’t envelop a room but it does fill it out better than just a center and a couple bookshelves. Play with the volume and you’ll find the minimum to where you really start to hear the difference. I was looking for something to provide a lower accent without shaking the building and this is it. Good enough for my living room. It’s a good value. Easy to drive with the Nobsound 5.1 class d amp I found online. That has two 24v power input ports you can use so I got an extra power brick to support the sub along with my other speakers. Easy to use. Passive subs aren’t very common so this is much appreciated. It’s nice that it’s fairly compact and looks good. I’d be interested if they every made a similar form factor low profile sub with larger drivers. I sit it vertical so it doesn’t take up that much space. Laying it flat and it’d still not be very obtrusive since it looks good. For music it’s pretty great. Movies it doesn’t have that deep deep bass that can kick and drone fast. Music, great lower end accent. Most of the music I listen to don’t go as deep as like a fair amount of movies can get. I suppose this wouldn’t be the body shaker for electric dance music but practically everything else, it’s great.

    Excellent sub!
Wow! Using it in a garage with a Fosi BT30D 48v and it’s pretty amazing. Like make the neighbors angry. Put it in the back corner about 6” off the back wall and 12” from the exterior wall. Definitely placement is key I had plans to mount it to the ceiling firing up but Gemini told me that corner placement would give me more punch. Turned out to be true. I barely have both the sub freq and sub volume up to 50%. If you’re on the fence about it I think it’s pretty safe to give it a try. I really wanted to buy a sub that I could use in any room. I am sure this is it.

Best paired with a reciever that has a crossover frequency knob
The same could probably be said of any passive subwoofer but making music sound really good with this sub takes some EQ fiddling. There are several configuration options and having that kind of versatility means you have to figure out what to do with it, which is a good problem to have. The construction is really perfect with a slightly gritty semigloss textured surface and makes my other speakers look like junk, which is another good problem to have.Overall I see it sitting on a shelf 20 years from now with no purpose but no buyers remorse because it is what it is. Not bad at all.At this price a person could buy it on a whim

Great sounding, well built, easy to hide behind TV
It is really hard to find passive subwoofers! I needed one for my Fosi BT30D Pro amp which has a passive subwoofer output, and am happy I don’t need to use up another 110V power plug for this speaker.Sweep sound tests shows it can get really low, around 30hz, better than the official specs suggest. Bass is clear and tight, and can get plenty loud. The form factor is great as I can hide it behind the TV on my TV stand, and it looks stylish and built extremely well!

    Nice sound. No low lows
I have 4 of these hooked up to a sa-1000. Its a very good pairing. I wish there was a way they could tune them lower. Dayton claims they play down to 40hz. They actually will dig a little lower. They fall off at about 35hz. And they fall off hard. But what can you expect from a 4″ driver? I wish they could achieve lower tuning capabilities but I am not sure it is really feasible. With 4 of these (16 speakers) they reach about 2/3rds the volume of a single 18″ subwoofer hooked up to the same amp. For the price I think you get what you pay for. I like them.

    Very Satisfied
I’ll try to be as succinct as I can. Live in an open floorspace where the living room to kitchen is unimpeded. Bought a Music Hall US-1 record player and connected it to store bought bookshelf speakers that are around 25w continuous each. Placed record player and speakers midway between both rooms. Sound wasn’t bad, aside from some audible pops and crackles even though I’m very careful about keeping my records clean, but if I was running water in the sink, couldn’t get the volume loud enough to hear the records over the rushing water. Uprgraded my stylus to a Ortofon, which helped a little. Did some careful research to find what would boost the sound plus create that classic sound I remember listening to when I was young through old record players and passive speakers. Trying not to spend thousands of dollars, bought the Fosi BT30D pro, Klipsch 41m, and Daytona MKSX4 Subwoofer, along with reasonable priced 14 gauge banana clip wires, and a gold plated RCA cord. Friends, I am so over the moon about the results. Can tinker with the sub frequency and subvolume on the Fosi along with the bass and treble depending on the record to get the best sound. Also, no clicks and pops. And the speakers sound remarkable even on full blast, but remember to dial the other settings down so it isn’t washed out. Highly recommend all components combined, but I’m sure they go great separately with other setups.

    Better than no sub
I bought this to augment a set of bookshelf speakers for a 2.1 setup. It was fine listening to rock, jazz and country- but switch to just about anything electronic that digs deep or has nuanced or rolling bass waves and it quickly showed its shortcomings. Passive subs are in short supply these days, if you need to augment your bass, but don’t need something to work too hard, this is an inexpensive way to try it out- just keep in mind that it has limitations.

Perfect companion to the Fosi BT30D PRO
Perfect companion to the Fosi BT30D PRO. Solid down to 35Hz. Compact enough to fit under my desk.
