Great device!
Simple but useful on waters. Sailboat assist is a plus for this device. Not a sophisticated or newer model but this more than what you need as recreational boater or sailer.

Slow response to moving locations.
Nice little GPS, but reacts quite slowly when I walk from one location to another during field work. Had the same issue with two different GPS 73 units, so assume it is a feature of this model. The 78 and 79 models react much faster. I prefer the 78, but they are becoming quite hard to get. Wish you would make them available again.

Very basic GPS tool, but essential.
This is exactly what I needed. It is NOT a chartplotter. It tells you the gps coordinates of where you are, speed over ground and course over ground. You can set a course from point a to point b, and it will track your progress and speed history. My intention is to use it as a compass and also to plot my gps coordinates on a paper chart.

Perfect Companion for Sailing
Some reviews say this is slow to update this is a feature. If you dig into the settings you can set the update frequency to any amount of time from 1 second on up. I keep mine at 3 seconds for sailing which is responsive enough but not killing the battery and making all of the dashboards constantly changing under sail. This specific model also allows customization of up to three dashboards in table format where as others units allow only a single table dashboard. I think it is better that it is not in color as it tends to be a little easier to read at the helm. I have three of these now. Once that I use, one for the ditch bag and one in the faraday bag. With this and a paper chart you can find yourself anywhere in the world.

Would buy again
Bought this sea navigator for my niece who owns a fishing boat in Kingston Jamaica and the fisher men says it’s the best thing that directs them to different places they need to go.

Good reputable brand, value depends on your usage
There is no touch screen and it is sometimes too sensitive when used while walking or rowing a boat. I am going in a straight line but the directions keeping changing. It probably works better in a car or a motorboat when you are going at higher speed.

Este GPS es más bien malo. Resulta difícil de manejar, y las baterías se agotan rápidamente. La pantalla es muy pequeña, y las teclas también. No lo recomiendo en absoluto.

Although haven’t yet had time to use it, in the process of changing boats for angling, it seems to tivk all the boxes for what I need

GARMIN E’ SEMPRE GARMIN, QUINDI NON CI SONO PARTICOLARI COMMENTI PER L’OGGETTO. PER ME E’ UNA RISERVA DEI SUPPORTI PIU’ PERFORMANTI IN USO SULLA BARCA MA E’ VERAMENTE UTILE ALLO SCOPO. FUNZIONALE, INTUITIVO E PRATICO NON CERCAVO NIENTE DI PIU’ SEMPLICE

This is not a chart plotter, let’s get that out of the way. I’m a sailor on an unfamiliar lake this is great. Set your waypoint to the dock you left or any other destinations you put in and it will take you right there. Great for any sailor who races. And has a tacking feature also. No problem on a sunny day. Well lit at night. Runs on two aa batteries and I always have a spare set. Run time on batteries is excellent.
