    FANTASTIC!
This is the best thing since sliced bread! I wish I have known about these 20 years ago! I LOVE this product, the sensor works down my 800 foot driveway, with tree obstruction. Easy to install, and the batteries last forever! Never had one problem with this product! Only thing is the “doorbell” would have liked to be able to adjust volume and sound.

    Very reliable
Installed easy and has great range. My only problem was when I had the sensitivity set to high. I had it installed about 800 feet from any road traffic and thought I could crank up the sensitivity so even a lawn mower on the other side of drive would set it off, it did. Not sure why but a bad rain storm with lightning caused it to give lots of false alerts. Cranked back the sensitivity a little and no more false alerts so far and still plenty sensitive even for the lawn mower if not hugging the far side. Transmitter is attached to a tree about 300 feet from house through a woods. I have two receivers, one in Living room pretty much at the same level as transmitter and one on top of the basement wall almost below ground level and it activates both. Great alarm, already recommended to a friend with a long drive that was having problems with a cheaper unit and he is also very happy.

    Easy to install, works great.
So happy with this after going through several different brands. Works by detecting the metal in the cars, so it doesn’t go off when a deer runs by. Has great range – we have it about 300 feet away. Loud enough to hear through your the house.

    Best Driveway Alarm out there!
I’ve had my Dakota Alert Driveway Alarm for 5 years now so it’s time to write a review. I live out in the country and like to know when someone is heading to the house. I tried the one that detects motion and the deer kept setting it off all night. This one works when it detects the metal in a vehicle, It transmits to the alarm over a half a mile and I’ve only had to change the batteries once! Bought one this year for my mom and dad for Christmas!

Very effective but not without annoyance
I bought this product to place in my 1/4 mile gravel drive. It was easy to bury and run a line to a nearby pole. The cable length was good. It works extremely well and only picks up vehicles (as opposed to animals). Well worth the purchase. Annoyance? You must select the ring tone (from several options) before you connect the sensor to the receiver, which means to change it, you must go down the drive, pull out the battery (there is no cut switch for convenience), power it up, and reconnect the sensor to the receiver electronically in order to change the ring tone. With today’s technology, I don’t see why it could not be done from the unit inside the house without shutting down the driveway unit. But otherwise works well.

Works perfectly. Buy once, cry once.
Easy to set up and it works great! I mounted the box on a fence and it easily reached the receiver. I turned the sensitivity all the way down for install, but I ended up leaving it there because it was honestly perfect for being buried under the road. I would imagine you would need to turn the sensitivity up if it were along side the road, but for me it was just as easy to bury it in the middle. I have not had a single false alarm. I would highly recommend this product.

Here’s something that actually works as advertised
Here’s something that actually works. It’s really kind of pricey but I’ve had the thing a while and are theity actually just works. No false alarms and not much gets by it without setting off the alarm. I added the second receiver after a while and it works just as well.

Exactly What I was looking for.
Motion detection systems that use video or IR beams result in too many false alarms. This device performs just as expected. The setup is easy but slightly cumbersome. I installed the system with a total of three receivers. If you don’t set them all at the same time you’ll have to do a lot of walking back and forth from your transmitter and receivers to get the job done. I lucked out and planed a head for my multi receiver setup. Mounting the transmitter and sensor is a breeze. The device seem rugged, it will have to survive the Arizona heat. My receivers are 200 to five hundred feet from the various receivers, all work perfectly. So far no issues. Overall, this Device works perfectly. Cons, it’s a very pricey system, I’d like to get another transmitter/sensor setup, but cost and setup are holding me back. For the price of the system, I would have expected integration with my WiFi System to send me phone notifications.UPDATE:The system had continued to function well through three months of 115 degree heat. It’s been an excellent security system. Then a big lightning storm came around and the transmitter stopped working reliably. But after a few calls to the company, a repair was arranged and within two weeks we had the system up and working again. Excellent company support.I have also interface this unit with my Samsung SmartThings system. So now when the driveway system is triggered, I get a text telling me someone has arrived or departed my property. Plus I have it setup so that SmartThings will turn on outside lights at night if the Dakota system triggers. I love this system’s function and flexibility.
