Low cost, easy to install.
Easy to install. Less than 20 minutes installing the lock and 10 minutes of that was reading the instructions.Type in the code and deadbolt releases. No extra knobs on lock to turn when you have your hands full. Door is locked securely with a press of the button when leaving.Casing is plastic as expected for the price point but looks great. Deadbolt locking mechanism is solid metal which is the most important part of the lock.

Work GREAT. I wish I had bought the more expensive model as it allows you to change the keys. I have 4 of these and called the company one time. They talked me through the problem that I had caused myself.

They even put the wrong instructions in the box
This item was supposed to be a quick 10 minute install and move on with your day. Nope, all together it took over 2 hours over two days. The install went quick until I needed to rehand the lock. The codes on the instructions did not work. I tried troubleshooting with YouTube videos and AI but they didn’t give any codes so went to the Kwikset website and tried their help/chat function (it’s AI and not a person, couldn’t talk to one). This was another adventure. It kept telling me to remove battery pack to do hard reset since the code and procedure the AI help function kept telling me wouldn’t work. It was beyond frustrating that the help I was getting from the manufacturer site wasn’t working. I even reentered the exact name and description (3x) so I was getting the right help. Then I remembered a code from the previous lock (also Kwikset), I entered it and the lock rehanded itself and would take a new code. Turns out the Kwikset AI help function kept giving me the instructions for a slightly different lock but that doesn’t explain why after typing in the product description, it kept giving me the wrong information and that the instructions in the box didn’t work either. But that’s not all! After running smoothly for a couple of weeks, the lock started to not totally unlock when you put the code in. You would have to put in the code multiple times for it to totally unlock. But wait…there’s more! This lock would also not lock when you push lock button, start nonstop beeping and the lock button will flash red and not stop unless you pull a battery, it won’t unlock period (my wife and kids have been locked out of the house with this lock multiple times). Troubleshooting never completely fixes the issues.

No more keys!
My last home had a push button entry and I was quickly spoiled. I bought this for my new place. It was easy to install and now I can come and go without worrying if I have my key or dig it out when I need to go in. Great value and makes life easier. Feels great and is good quality. Works amazingly and looks good too.

REVIEW UPDATE: The plastic button number cap failed at 11 months in the hot sun. I bought a second unit to replace it. Still worth the cost.I am very happy with this purchase. I can’t believe I waited this long to buy an electric lock. I now only need one key when I leave the house. We have only had it a month, but it has already paid off in unexpected ways. Things like letting the kids run back inside the house without turning off the car, or letting in a family member that unexpectedly paid a visit inside when we were not at home.I think the most important thing is how it simply works an expected. The unlock speed is very fast. It is already unlocked from the time it takes to enter the code to opening the door. Less than a second. ZERO DELAY IN WAITING! The auto lock set to three minutes is another unexpected benefit because of the kids leaving it unlocked. The backlight also works well. RFID and Bluetooth connectivity is completely unnecessary in my opinion. The last thing I want is another app on my phone.I did have one small issue with the install. The cavity carved out of the door frame for the dead bolt was a tiny bit shallow and would not allow a complete close to register. I simply used a power tool and a drill bit to dug it out 1cm more and I was all set.

Does not fit flush on my outer door metal plate to big for standard size hole on my metal door! !!! Also only came with one key !!!! Do not buy waste of money !!!

Easy physical install. Instructions are a little confusing when it comes to programming the lock. Does not come with batteries. Make sure you have brand new batteries and not install older ones or you may be spending way more time programming then installing.

Lock works well but only had 1 key and the mechanism may not be Kwikset although all the packaging and instructions were labelled Kwikset the mechanism inside is very plastic not the usual Kwikset quality.
