    Love this thing so far.
This is the third digital scale I have recently purchased…and the only one that seems accurate. It arrived last night so I immediately baked rolls to test it. The recipe gave both volume and weight measurements. I placed my bowl on the scale and tared it out. I first measured the flour, then added it to the bowl…it was spot on in weight. I proceeded to do the same with all the dry ingredients…including adding the salt and the yeast without using the tare function since they were such small amounts. Next I repeated the process measuring the liquid ingredients in a Pyrex cup with equally perfect results. Once the dough was ready to divide into rolls, I measured the total amount, divided that by 12 (the number of rolls I was making) then weighed each roll to the exact amount and it worked! I was not able to do this with the other scales. The soft touch controls were very responsive. One quick light tap on the power button even turns it off without having to wait for a few seconds. So, after only one session, it worked and I love it!There is one con I have. I wanted to order it in red, but, of course it only comes in black.

Looks great but doesn’t measure under 5 grams???!!!
I purchased this scale after reading the reviews and descriptions, and really thought it would weigh small grams for baking. Almost every scale says that it weighs in 1gram increments. After I tested the smaller gram weights, unfortunately, the scale stayed at zero g’s untill I added more flour and the weight tipped over 5 grams and then registered. It is a beautiful scale and could keep it and buy a second scale to do the smaller weights???? At $32, Im just not sure because i don’t usually weigh anything more than a few lbs except when i have a big dough in a large bowl….will see….

    Oxo Replacement
This scale is a replacement for an Oxo scale which broke for no obvious reason. The Oxo was a bit heavy and I was looking for something easier to handle. I don’t use this scale for less than 10g, this is a scale for e.g. weighing flour for making cakes or bread. Every measuring instrument has a useful dynamic range up to 10kg/22 lbs, hence is not great weighting 0.5g to 5g – that’s the nature of the beast and not a design flaw. Overall, compared to the Oxo this is a in my opinion a much more practical scale for daily use compared to the Oxo, albeit the Oxo was better for very wide pots since it has not the Oxo display pull out option and uses a HOLD function instead.

    Inaccurate measurement
I recently tossed this in the trash after 9 months of trying to use it. It looked attractive and was meant to be a kitchen scale for coffee bean for espresso shots. The scale intermittently produced inaccurate weights in isolation (using two control scales for comparison, one digital and one mechanical), but this could not consistently tare or weigh accurately. Adding coffee beans to a container would not consistently register… after container tare, i could pour in 1 gram, then 2, then 3, up to 5 grams… Placed on my control scale (container-tare) i might see I poured over 8 grams. And that’s when it would register any change at all… often times it wouldn’t even register any change, and i might have 18 grams of beans on it… compare it to the cheap Fuzion digital scale that works like a charm and is accurate with the mechanical scale. I decided for the price that this wasn’t worth the trouble to seek remedy or request a replacement one and chose to call this a $33 USD lesson that Eacali scales should not be trusted. Three stars because it could occasionally work in isolated testing. Buyer beware.

    Great scale!
This is the second escali kitchen scale I purchased. My original, which was about five years old stopped being consistently accurate so I purchased a new one. Turns out for the cost of me shipping it to them they recalibrated it and sent it back in less than two weeks! NO CHARGE! This new one is a bit larger and can handle heavier weight. Comes in handy for heavier jobs like bread dough and pasta

I really like this flat scale and the range of measurements it provides. I mainly use it for baking and weighing both wet and dry ingredients and appreciate that I can easily see and read the results. I have only had it for a short time but have used it often.

Sleek and large scale but readings do fluctuate. Had another brand digital scale before and that was fantastic, it never had this problem.
