Excellent Quality Doorbell Camera, No Subscription Required
I have used (and have recommended) ZUMIMALL products to others in the past with success and decided to give their wireless doorbell camera a try, especially since it is a standalone/no subscription cost item unlike some of the big names out there. I have been VERY happy with my new doorbell camera, just like other ZUMIMALL products in the past! Setup was quick and easy with no issues. Literally 10-15 minutes from opening the box until I was done.The included photos show how clear my view from the camera is (and night vision has similar clarity & detail). I love that I can see an integrated view of my other camera at this same location from the opening screen in the app. The screenshot of the controls screen is the ‘out of the box’ configuration and ZUMIMALL has nailed it with the default configuration even though I can adjust many settings as needed.The reason I say that ZUMIMALL nailed it with the default settings/technology is because if you look at my scenario, a street runs perpendicular to the sidewalk that is in view. I have had zero false triggers with motion detection of activity at the street (including anyone walking by) but the doorbell camera will quickly pick up anyone approaching my home on the sidewalk once they are about 1/3 of the way to my porch from the road. Of course when someone pushes the doorbell button I receive an alert on my phone (and can answer/interact with them) as well as the super compact inside chime will sound. I like that the indoor chime has so many tunes to select from–loud & long if someone has hearing difficulty to short & discreet as well as several seasonal theme tunes.Again, NO SUBSRIPTION was a huge plus for me! ZUMIMALL offers a short clip, short term cloud storage at no cost and a longer clip, longer retention subscription that is entirely optional, or you can do as I did and opt to install a micro SD card in the camera which allows you to manage video clips as needed for any duration of time.Battery life so far has been great! About a week in and my doorbell battery is at 92% so I’ll likely be able to go about 2 months between charges without issue. FWIW, I have a USB-C power bank that I plan to use to charge the doorbell in place rather than remove the unit from it’s base to bring it indoor to charge.
