Great for timing the lights on and off
Easy to install and great for timing the lights

Great solution for us!
We had an unnecessarily complicated light timer for our front door. I replaced it with this device hoping the programming was as easy as other home automated products.Winner! Easy programming. We set the ON time to be at dark and it automatically changes each day and with DST.We have Google Fiber. (I know, they’re invasive, but we got it anyway.) Easiest connection of any I’ve done.Bought another for our garage accent light, which had a toggle switch, so we weren’t using it. These little fellas fixed a big problem for us.

Good switches, had to change the app
Good economical switch. Upgraded my wifi to a mesh 6 system and the switches failed and just could not reconnect with any consistency. Tried everything and found that my Tuya Smart app found them, took over, and they now work great. If your switch(es) begin to fail, try the Tuya Smart app instead of the Smart Life recommended by the seller.

It mostly works as advertised, but there are caveats
I was able to get this working well with Alex. The only issues I found is that it’s a bit thicker on the back end than a traditional power switch. It can be a challenge to get it to fit in. The other issue is that this is essentially a tuny computer on the inside, and just like larger computers, it can sometimes “crash” which will cause it to freeze up and no longer respond to touch or cloud control. With most computers, you can simply reboot them by cycling power. The only way to do that with a hard-wired switch is to trip the breaker. That’s not a great option. These things should come with a hard reset pin. Granted, this only happened once or twice. The app has triggered firmware updates that likely mitigated the issue. Still, I’ve since stopped installing these in my home for this reason and instead switched to smart bulbs. They’re more expensive in the long run, but they’re easier to reset. The other issue I have is that the touch sensor can take a second to register. It’s not a long delay, but can be annoying when you’re walking past and don’t want to come to a full stop just to switch on/off the lights. I won’t buy a new switch like this again unless it comes with a physical push button. Touch sensors are not ready for this use case.

Very convenient
Installed the switch on a outbuilding used as a workout room. Able to control the outdoor lighting via an app and have it on a timer so that the lights are on every morning before the sun rises. I’ve used a couple others inside the home and have had no issues and love the convenience of using the Smart Life app for all three. Note that you do need a ground wire at the light switch to install.

They look great installed.
Of the MANY Alexa compatible switches I’ve purchased, these seem to work the best. They fit in a single gang box and 2 will fit in a 2 gang box. Most others are 2 switches in a single gang form factor making it difficult to install. Also these use the TuyaSmart app to control which is way more responsive than the Ewelink app. The switch I replaced because the tempered glass face plate fell off and shattered. For my money, I’ll be sticking with these.

Times out and doesn’t recover without switching breaker off and back on.
The switch installed just fine, although the common wire was required, despite the description. After installation, it integrated with my network using one of the methods in the instruction manual. The manual requires a magnifying glass to be read. It integrated with Alexa just fine. Only one little problem:After sitting for a couple of hours, the device hangs up and has to be reset by turning the breaker off and back on. When hung up, the switch is illuminated, but doesn’t function. The device still shows up on my network as in-range, but is not here when I ping it and Alexa says it timed out.So since the switch doesn’t work, I have requested a refund, and will have to buy a different brand and hope it will integrate better.
