Worked exactly as needed, great for a Bluetooth bulb
For most people, this won’t be the right choice of bulb. It requires a bluetooth connection, either directly to your phone or to a Google Home or another GE device. If you don’t have another GE device or a Google home you shouldn’t buy this version, look for the “direct connect” Cync bulb. But if you do have one of those, this bulb is great, does everything I need it to, and to my eyes has much nicer white tones than the other GE bulb models.

Great GE product, ok app
The brightness is very good, along with color setting and automation great for helping wake up in the morning! I bought it mostly out of curiosity and am now sold after owning for a few months.although the app is a little annoying because it often needs you to relogin and sometimes has trouble connecting to the light. (Although to be fair may be an android issue not easily fixed by GE). I wish it had a pc application as an option.Despite the connectivity flaws it is the best lightbulb ive ever had. The smart features are really cool and useful. I like setting it to dim warm at night and bright cool blue light to help wake up, rgb colors are also really fun. This product lives up to GE product quality of the past! 30 year old GE microwave still going strong.While there are many cheaper chinese knock offs i do not trust using their sketchy apps that might have spyware nor their quality control/policies. I’ve never had a garbage product from GE.

It worked…and then it didn’t
I bought this item for the purpose of having a smart light which I could easily use to dim, brighten, change the colour to set an ambience and to schedule on and off times. I specifically bought this item because of its colour option which ran the gamut of a colour wheel, being just about limitless. This brand, at the time, was the essentially the only option at the time given my preferences. Upon receiving the item, it worked as it suppose to with all of its various functionalities. It connected with my phone well, it was responsive to instructions to turn on and off, change colour along the colour wheel as intended and it could have been scheduled as one desired. This changed with time however where there would be issues in connectivity between my smart phone and the smart light. Despite the annoyance of needing your bluetooth and gps on in order to connect with the smart light, it worked in the beginning and subsequently, in less than a six months, it no longer connected with the phone despite best efforts. Recently (June 2021), with the roll out of the new cync app, I decided to make a concerted effort, leaving nothing to chance, to get it working again. I even factory reset the smart light using the guidelines for lights older than 2019 with the factory reset being successful however, this did not result in my smart phone connecting with the smart light. The item now functions as a typical and normal light, which one turns on and off by hand, with no benefit of a range of colours, just a simple bright but soft yellow light. Honestly, if I wanted such simplistic functionality, I wouldn’t have bought this item. All I can say is that I’m disappointed with this item and hope it will be improved upon by the company in the future.
