This Magnetic Reed Switch, made of ABS material, is a NC/ normally closed type switch with screws for intrusion detectors for door and window switches
Switch Type:NC means normally closed, when the magnet together, the circuit is conductive( light on ); when the magnet separate, the circuit is not conductive ( light off ).
Function : Usually when the door and window are closed, the switch contact is affected by the magnetic field to form a conducting state; When the door and window are illegally opened, the magnet is far away from the switch, the switch contact is disconnected, that is, the alarm is triggered.
Product composition: The door magnetic switch is an intrusion detector used to detect the door and window switch in the anti-theft system, which is composed of reed tube switch and magnet. 4.Installation environment: can be used for industrial equipment and household appliances, during the installation process, do not knock, to avoid damage to the internal components, the magnet part and the switch part should be parallel aligned, good position.

Value sensor
Great price. Worked perfectly. With adhesive or screws for mounting. Attached wires provided enough length for mounting
Holly –
Works great
Simple part

Seriously?
The magnets don’t seem to be strong enough to make the sensor actuate.

Well made.
Work as advertised. I would buy again.

Better than wireless systems
* Installation isn’t too difficult* More durable than wireless* Less maintenance than wireless* Good valueThese are harder to install than wireless sensors but have less maintenance and are more secure. No need to change batteries like with wireless systems. I prefer the wired internal reed switches wherever I can install them but wired external are a close second. Wired sensors are less likely to be tampered with. They can’t be jammed like wireless sensors. With wireless tampering becoming more common and the tools more available wired is the best option for security. Wireless systems are much simpler to install and may be the only option for renters but if you can install these I highly recommend them. These are much more reliable.

These sensors work extremely well are a great deal for the price.
These sensors work extremely well are a great deal for the price. I especially appreciate how far the magnet must be separated from the sensor before the circuit opens. The product listing says “more than 20mm”. In my testing, it actually took about 30mm. In my opinion, this is very good, because it allows more flexibility in the placement of the magnet. Please see my attached video, where I tested the sensors before installing them. In my video, I wired two of these sensors to an alarm sensor in a series circuit. Note that a green LED blinks briefly on the alarm sensor when either one of the magnets is removed, and again when it is returned. The sensors are hardwired with short wires that are only about 14 inches long, so depending on your application, it is likely that you will need to extend the wires. Personally, I would have preferred screw terminals directly on the sensors, but that’s just my preference.Mounting screws are included, in addition to preinstalled double sided tape. In my use case, I wanted to mount with screws only, no tape, so I would have preferred the tape not come preinstalled. This wasn’t a big problem though, because it was fairly easy to peel the tape off.MY USE CASE:My shed had wood double-doors that were in poor condition, so I decided to replace them with new metal doors. I previously had a single wireless alarm sensor mounted directly to one of the old wood doors, with a magnet mounted to the other door, so when both doors were closed, the sensor and the magnet came together. However, that approach doesn’t work quite as well on metal doors, because the metal can block the wireless signal, so I decided to locate the wireless alarm sensor away from the metal doors for better wireless performance, and then run wires from the alarm sensor to two of these new magnet sensors, with one for each door. I wired the circuit in series, which means that if either of the doors is opened, the alarm will trigger. See my attached photos. They were easy to install and they work perfectly. I’m very happy with the result.
