I ordered this brand because I’m familiar with it, I have other products by Tuya. It was super easy to set up because I have app and it works well. I tested it and it sent notification with slightest bit of water. Good thing is it also notifies you when battery life is low. Very loud sound to notify you of possible water issues. This is just what I needed.

Great product
I bought these because I have been using surface sensors and they work but by they have 2 problems. You need to be close enough to hear them and by the time they go off if there is a risk of additional flooding. I specifically use these in the basement sump because it sometimes overflows from the washing machine. This detector has the sensor in a cable that is long enough to mount the body on the wall and the sensor just above the level where the pump should come on and empty the sump so if the water reaches the sensor I know the pump didn’t start and the next washer cycle will likely overfill the sump. Being connected to WIFI allows me to get warnings wherever I happen to be. I combine this with my smart plug on the washer outlet to automatically turn the washer off if the alarm has been active for over 30sec.The sensor has mounting holes to secure it and the body has a seperate mounting plate that makes it easy to replace the batteries.If there were one thing I would change it would be to make the sensor cable detachable so it could be threaded through a hole easily.Installation and setup were straight foward and simple.I highly recommend these leak detectors.

Easy Integration
These sensors were easy to get setup and integrated with my current smart home setup. They were also very easy to install in the location to be monitored. As soon as they were powered on, the Tuya app was able to find and add them. This is one of the easiest ways to add reasonably priced smart home sensors to my Home Assistant setup. Once they were in Tuya, they were also in Home Assistant, easy peasy. The main sensor box holds the batteries and acts as the speaker unit. It is slim and the included adhesive pad held it in place with no issue. From there, the sensor line wire runs and terminates in the actual water detection point. These sensors are easy to test, all you have to do in place the tip in moisture. During the test, I found that it only requires a few seconds to register the moisture and send an alert. The excellent response time means that a leak or flood barely has time to start before you are notified. All I had to do was find a good mounting placement and it was up and running. The biggest complaint I have is regarding the battery life. I have had the sensors connected for just about a month and a half and the battery is already at 50%. These sensors are currently in use at a vacation property. One of the reasons that smart home technology is so helpful is because in the winter, the property might be vacant for four to five months. If the battery dies during that time, we lose the security of being able to monitor the property in our absence. These sensors are a great value, they are easy to use at a very reasonable price point but the battery life could be improved.
