I found the setup to be fairly simple. It performs exactly as I hoped. I needed a printer, copier and scanner – it is a great value. I did have to do some research to complete the scanner setup – that could have been easier overall.

NO INK SUBSCRIPTION BUT please keep reading
I was looking for a new printer and chose the Epson WF-7840, mainly because I didn’t have to get an ink subscription. Then, I started setting up the printer and discovered it would only work with Epson brand ink. This info should have been on the product page. And I should have paid more attention to the reviews.1 refill with Epson brand ink (1 black and 1 each of the colors) costs $96 where the non- brand inks are anywhere from $27 to $58. Talk about bait and switch.I did find some 4 star and 5 star reviews that assure the non- brand ink works well – just as vibrant, long lasting, etc. I take those with a grain of salt because those reviews were mostly Vine Customer Reviews.How rich do these huge corporations have to be? It would be wonderful if these giants remembered us, just getting by folk. Prices keep going up while salaries, pensions, SS stagnate.And the insane mega-bonuses that the CEO, CFO, COO, and other O’s expect and believe they deserve. It’s us, just getting by folk who make them look good. Sorry, I’ll get off my soapbox now.I’m going to keep looking for affordable ink. It has to exist. I have to believe this. I miss the 60’s and 70’s. When people cared about each other, fairness, civil rights, affordable medical care and providing a quality education for our kids. Sorry, I’m back on my soapbox.So, I wish you all a good night, peace, health and affordable ink.
