I got this wired security camera system for a friend who wanted to keep an eye on his place, and it’s been working pretty well. The setup was a bit of a project, but once it was all hooked up, the picture quality was sharp and clear. The 1080p cameras capture a lot of detail, and the night vision works better than expected.He likes the human and vehicle detection feature, it helps cut down on false alerts from animals or moving branches. The cameras are solidly built and waterproof, so they hold up even in bad weather. Having remote access means he can check the feed from his phone anytime, which is pretty convenient.One thing to keep in mind is that the setup process can be a bit challenging if you are not very comfortable with tech stuff. Running and hiding all the cables around the house or outside takes some patience and planning. It took my friend a couple of afternoons to get everything neatly installed. But once it’s done, the system runs smoothly without glitches or crashes. Also, the 1TB hard drive is pretty big and stores a lot of footage, but if you like to record everything nonstop, it might fill up faster than expected. Thankfully, the system lets you set how long it keeps recordings before overwriting the old ones, so you can manage the storage.Overall, it’s been a solid pick for someone serious about home security. The picture quality is sharp, and the human and vehicle detection cuts down on annoying false alarms from things like animals or wind-blown branches. The cameras themselves feel tough and weatherproof, which is great if you live somewhere with rain or snow. 🆘 Updated review below! 🆘12/15/25 – we’ll now I have 1 camera that is working. This is insane !The cameras have stopped working 2 out of the 4 no longer work. I’ve tried everything. I’ve purchased new wiring thinking it was the wires and .. NOPE it’s not the wires . Now I’m stuck with the dvr box and can not find cameras that work with the dvr box.. – I spent money for something to not work after a few months – DO NOT PURCHASE.!!Cameras do not have sound ! This should have been documented in the product description. Quality is great during the day. However, the quality for night vision is horrible. I don’t like that it needs to be connected to the internet for this to be able to record 24/7 and playback. I did have a difficult time with activation. It logs off the screen every 2 days. I’m guessing when you log in on line it boots you off. To view the play back remotely lags, and that is very annoying and frustrating. The cctv box get extremely hot and you will need to have a fan blowing on it at all times. I don’t know if they have smaller cameras with better resolution and setting as well as sound. Moreover, if this works for you go for it.

I highly recommend the AIWIXEN 8CH 1080P Security Camera System. Setting it up was surprisingly simple and straightforward. The 5MP cameras provide impressively crystal-clear footage, making it easy to see all the details. The human and vehicle detection feature is accurate and very useful. Easy plug and play setup, camera angles are not wide enough. The picture is clear but the sound quality is not good.

Great value for the money, and it meets my needs.
I replaced a similar system (Defender) with this new updated version. One of the main reasons I chose this one is because it has the same type of connections as my previous version, and I was able to use my existing wiring (three) from the previous installation. The other reason is being able to view it remotely using my android smart phone (unlike my previous one). The installation was straight forward. The night vision part is about what you would expect from this type of camera, acceptable, but not really great. Overall it is a great value and I like what I see. The cameras are made out of plastic (which was expected), so time will tell about durability. My Defender cameras were made out of aluminum, and actually held up well for several years. Customer service is very responsive, but answers usually come late in the evening (time difference?). This is not a knock, just for information purposes. I was really close to buying wireless, Bluetooth, rechargeable cameras, but didn’t want the hassle of recharging them. I had three cameras before, and this is a four camera kit, so I left one of the cameras, replaced two of them and ran two additional wires and cameras. In total, I have five of them now. For viewing purposes, it gives you the options of viewing 1-4, 5-8, 8 or 9 channels. With 5 cameras, I chose 9, because I liked that overall view better. The other four are just blank with an emblem, but not bad. I haven’t tried motion detection, and keep it ongoing, I will consider that as time goes on. I gave it five stars based on the value for the money, and it meets my needs.
