Works with HomeKit Secure Video and All Major Ecosystems: Fully compatible with Apple HomeKit Secure Video (HSV) for encrypted recording, iCloud storage, and real-time notifications directly on Apple devices. Also compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, and SmartThings. Pro-level compatibility provides more options via RTSP/ONVIF support, NVR integration, and other advanced setups. *Note: To use this device with HomeKit Secure Video, an iCloud+ plan and an Apple home hub are required.
2K HD 165° Head-to-Toe Vision: See everything from packages at your feet to faces at the door. Featuring 2K HD resolution and a 165° ultra-wide field of view with a 3:4 aspect ratio, the G400 doorbell camera provides a vertical perspective that traditional 16:9 cameras miss. Equipped with nearly invisible 940nm infrared LEDs, this doorbell captures bright, high-definition video in total darkness, monitoring discreetly without alerting intruders or disturbing neighbors. *Note: When connected to Apple HomeKit, the resolution is limited to 1200p. This limitation also applies to Aqara Home when both platforms are used simultaneously.
Reliable Hardwired Power & Stable Wi-Fi 6: You can utilize the high-efficiency PoE connection or reuse your existing 8–24V AC/DC wiring, simplifying the upgrade path while maintaining stability. Additionally, the Wi-Fi video doorbell supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi 6 and meets WPA3 security standards for reliable and secure connections.
Local AI Detections & Custom Replies: Reduce false alarms with local person recognition and zone intrusion, ensuring you’re instantly notified when it matters, with no cloud processing required. When someone rings, use custom quick replies or the voice-changing intercom to answer the door safely. Our wired doorbell camera also features visitor face recognition and cloud package identification for total peace of mind.
IP65 Weatherproof & Easy Setup: Built to withstand the elements with an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, it works flawlessly in wind and rain. The package includes a wedge kit for optimal positioning and a plug-in chime for indoor alerts. The smart doorbell supports 24/7 continuous recording directly to a microSD card (up to 512GB, not included). For added peace of mind, all local footage is automatically backed up to your SMB-compatible NAS server, keeping your video safe and secure.
Excellent Aqara Home Integration: Combine with more devices for a smarter, more secure door experience in one Aqara flow: see, talk, and grant access in seconds, with peace of mind built in for deliveries, guests, and remote entry. Our video doorbell camera can stream its live view to compatible screens like MagicPad/Panel Hub S1 Plus; also, and visitor snapshots can be captured from G400 and displayed instantaneously on the Thermostat Hub W200. (S1 Plus and W200 availability may vary by region.)

Great dependable hardwired doorbell camera.
This is hands down the best Doorbell camera I have owned. It’s hardwire powered, either PoE or doorbell transformer. Was a snap to install, I used the Aqara app then added it to HomeKit. Video quality is best in the Aqara app but very good in HomeKit as well. My camera is partially exposed to rain but the camera shrugs it off. There is almost no lag in the Aqara app and none at all in HomeKit. Motion detection is great and is customizable. It accurately detects people and animals and packages.

Best Apple Homekit Doorbell
The Aqara Doorbell Camera G400 is possibly the best Apple Homekit Doorbell for 2026. It supports POE connection to my router, giving me a direct connect the video feed. No more spotty WiFi! The 2K image that is down-scaled to 1080p for Apple Secure Video is crystal clear and has good lighting contrast. Also the included chime is not needed for the device to work. You can setup your Apple Home Pod/Mini as your door bell. My only complaint is that you are not able to adjust the doorbell indicator light, you can only leave it on all day or turn it completely off. Maybe Aqara can do some updates to give us the option to only have the light on at night.

Working Well After Initial HomeKit Issues Were Fixed (For Us)
The G400 has been working quite well in Aqara’s Home app, but we purchased it to use with Apple Home (HKSV) and it has had a rocky start (although it seems like Apple may be to blame). During the initial week there was a 24hour HKSV outage that unfortunately occurred the first day I installed the G400. Once that was resolved, I still had several issues with the G400 in Apple Home. Live Video resolution in Apple Home was noticeably worse than in the Aqara Home app and only lasted a few seconds before it disconnected. Notifications and recordings rarely worked which was definitely a problem.Aqara Support’s suggestion was to update to the latest 26.4 OS on all Apple products and luckily that was released the following day. This fixed all the live view problems with Apple Home, but after an hour I still had notification and recording issues. For whatever reason, the following day Apple Home motion notifications and recordings started working. I tested repeatedly during the day and a few hours at night, and so far it has not missed a single motion event. Unfortunately, there still seem to be a few users on Reddit that are having this same problem. It’s hard to fault Aqara for this as they point out that once the G400 is connected to an Apple TV/HomePod, the hub will pull video from the doorbell and handle all event detection. (I did contact Apple support as well, but have not heard back on the issue after generating videos, logs, and diagnostics for them.) It would be nice if there was a way for users to get additional information in the Apple Home app and/or Aqara Home app as to what might be happening. Having to contact two different companies to determine who is at fault gets annoying fast.Initial issues aside, I do like the G400. The image quality is quite good (though only 1200p if you use Apple Home). I like that I can install an SD card and have it save events (or save continuously 24/7) to the SD card. It’s a bit annoying that vehicle and package detection in Aqara Home require a subscription to their service (or iCloud+ / HKSV) since both should be possible to detect on-device. My only major gripe right now is that IR/night-vision mode is quite dark without adjusting the brightness at which point anyone a few feet or closer to the camera is very overblown. Hopefully Aqara can adjust their auto-dimming algorithm some to improve this.

Perfect Smart Video Doorbell
The G400 is exactly what I was looking for. Smaller than the previous Aqara doorbell and still connects with Apple HomeKit. The video quality is good and having it get power from the existing doorbell wiring saves from worrying about batteries. Great product!

Don’t Fall for the Lie – True Field of View is ONLY 98 degrees, Super Narrow
I’ll be returning. I switched from a Night Owl 1080p that was 140 degree field of view. The Night Owl is significantly wider field of view than the G400 which is supposed to be 165 degrees. Back to the Night Owl but I really want 2K.Follow-up: I’ve had the camera less than 24 hours. I emailed Aqara support and they already responded. Impeccable customer support as far as I’m concerned. That said, the 165 degrees is diagonal instead of horizontal like every other company measures a camera field of view. That’s why my Night Owl 140 degrees is significantly wider than the Aqara G400 165 degree. My hub also dropped the camera connection for a significant portion of the night so I never got to see the night vision. I almost need another wedge to turn the camera out more to get a better view. The field of view may be too big an obstacle for me to overcome also. Picture is sooo much better than my Night Owl though. There’s no denying that.

Had an ethernet cable ran to the front door for this so mine is powered by PoE. Installation was easy and took about 15 minutes. There’s not much space behind the camera even when using the angled mount so the ethernet cable had to be cut to just the right length. The camera comes with a rubber seal with grooves to run the ethernet cable in and these are quite tight so having a smaller cable installed would be better. Once installed, setup was easy via the Aqara app and Apple Home. Best to do this before putting the camera on its mount as the QR codes are only visible when the camera is off the mount. So far so good. The doorbell integrates well with Apple devices.Picture quality looks very good. Mounted chest height at 90 degrees to the door and I am only able to see a little bit of the ground on the far side which is a shame as it’s no good for parcel monitoring. I haven’t bothered with the included chime since it’s awkward to setup and needs a usb power source so another thing dangling near a socket. It seems the only way is to stick the chime on the wall or something which I wasn’t keen to do.

It was good.

It connected to my HomeKit without any issues, so far so good. If you have HomeKit, you don’t need to install the Chime HomePod; it automatically works as a Chime.
