Reliable, easy to use Security System!
I’m really impressed with the Arlo Home Security System. Setup was fast and straightforward. The app guided me through everything step by step, and all the sensors connected seamlessly.Within minutes, I had full coverage on my doors, windows, and key areas of the home.The system is smart, responsive, and easy to manage from the app. I love the ability to arm and disarm remotely and receive instant notifications if anything is triggered.The included sensors are compact, reliable, and unobtrusive, and the keypad is intuitive to use. The battery life also seems to last a long time too!Overall, this system gives me real peace of mind without any complicated setup or outrageously expensive monthly fees. Fantastic system!
Super simple setup! Everything is performed in the app, all sensors, keypad, and outdoor siren were a breeze.••Not boomer friendly••If you cannot follow simple instructions without thinking you know best and skipping steps, this will be an extremely painful setup process.

it’s a great DIY security system
I recently got the Arlo Home Security System SS1501 and I’m really happy with it! Setup was super easy — the keypad hub and sensors connected in just minutes . I love that each 8-in-1 sensor can detect motion, open/close, leaks, temperature changes and more, so I feel like the whole house is fully covered .I get instant alerts on my phone if anything happens, and there’s no contract required, which is a big win for me . Overall, it’s a great DIY security system that gives me peace of mind without extra hassle. Highly recommend!

Installing upgrades your account which disables old functionality
If you have arlo cameras and use their very advanced automation features, do not get this camera. Installing it will upgrade your account and you cannot get the old features back.For example, if you had one camera detect motion and start recording on other cameras, that is now gone. It is simply schedule or home/away based system. All the new features are gone.I have canceled my arlo subscription and that didn’t get it back. I even created a new account, but the new app always installs now.I have hear that arlo was changing their subscriptions this year, but did not expect that :(I will try to get by with this app now (no choice) but arlo has lost a long time customer.==============================================================================Edit:OK, changed from 1 star to 3. Turns out you can setup one camera triggering other camera recordings. The problem I still have is they changed the app from a camera monitoring app to an alarm system app with 3 hard coded modes (Standby, Arm Home, Arm Away). The system is always in one of those modes, and you have to setup all your camera actions, notifications, and a recordings for each device in EACH MODE! This applies even if you don’t have the alarm system. You cannot get the old app back.Because Arlo still has some of the best cameras out there, they improved the camera feed load time, and the new dashboard is kind of useful, I am keeping the system.========================================================================Edit 2:OK, up to 4 stars now. I’m keeping one to myself as I think arlo could do a lot to improve things. I am testing out using new functionality to have time schedules for camera notifications. You cannot have a time-based recording system, but you can change the motion detect sensitivity. I’ll update if that works.

It has problems
The largest problem I have had is a false fire alarm. The good news is it was reported. Other than that not good. The person who called was practically panicking. Checking the cameras there was no reason for the alarm so I canceled the alarm. I went home just to be sure and there were no issues. The all-in-one sensors seem ok but in practice sensing the smoke/co2 alarm through sound doesn’t work.Installation was easy for the most part. I was having problems with the installation of one sensor and support was little help. I ended up figuring it out on my own.I liked the Arlo cameras and they are a good product. I trusted Arlo based on the cameras but that trust may have been misplaced. The alarm system feels like a beta product at best. Even if I didn’t face the issues I have faced this system lacks features of the camera system making this a subpar product.I will hold out and hope they get the system to a better place.Update: In the past 2 weeks I have had additional issues. I have now had one sensor fail to set when arming, even though the door was fully closed and locked when I left. I was not notified that it failed to set when I left. I went into the app to check the cameras and saw the alarm failed to be properly set. There has also been another false alarm while vacuuming. The alarm system thought the vacuum was a carbon monoxide alarm.

Outstanding security system!
Arlo has a great home security system tbat is super easy to install and set up. The home dock emits a pleasant sound that is loud enough to hear whenever a door is opened and when paired with the cameras allows for full coverage of your home.The camera’s themselves have an excellent picture quality and when subscribed to their security plan allow you to save all footage recorded. The battery life of them aswell is excellent. Unless the cameras are constantly going off (which can be adjusted) I only have to charge them once every couple months.This security system is outstanding, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for an affordable security system which is reliable.
