Durable, accurate digital scale
Does what a scale should. This one is compact, accurate and easy to use. The digital readout is easy to read. The case is durable, and the thing really will measure 110 lbs. You can use it for weighing static loads like produce, ingredients or luggage, and I also have used it to measure preload, such as for wheel bearings.Pros:* Lightweight, easy to store and deploy* Handle on top is on sliders to permit stowing it close to the case* The case and fittings are very strong; does not feel like it will self-destruct when weighing heavy items* Readout is clear and easily read* Buttons have a good feel and depress easily at the right angle (and are recessed to avoid accidental presses)* Metric and US readouts* Tare function* Sub-ounce precision* Accurate — tested with 1kg and 10-lb reference weights and it’s dead-on.Cons:* The battery issue (see below) — does seem to use them more than it should, but fairly minorOther thoughts:Seems to eat batteries, something I didn’t expect since they’re not doing any real work like running an incandescent bulb or the like. I will need to do some checking with other batteries to see if this is indeed the case (or it was a battery issue). One would expect that alkalines would last a long time in this, even with regular use, since they are only there to run the electronics. Not worth docking a star for. It’s a great scale.

Pleasantly surprised, very accurate scale for what it is!
I bought this scale about 9 months ago to weigh my backpacks for hiking / backpacking trips, it is a big help for trip planning. Also gets used for a lot of other small tasks – the fact you can hang it and hang a bag with stuff in it from the hook makes this a very useful scale.This scale has been a welcome surprise for accuracy. I did not have high expectations going in, and would have been happy if this were a tad outside of the tolerances for lighter objects under 2lbs and heavier ones over, say, 90lbs… but as usual with American Weigh scales, this one exceeded my expectations.I own many scales, and have a myriad of different calibration weights. Even with as litlle as 1-2 lbs, this scale reads right where it should. The error is small enough, and definitely withing the .05 tolerance it is sold at, that I typically feel confident in what I am reading whether it is 2 lbs or 40 lbs on the hook.For the price paid, I would recommend this scale to anyone looking for a versatile, cheap and durable scale for their needs. As always, those seeking accuracy to the gram level would need to look elsewhere. This is my fifth AWS scale, and I have been happy with every one of them. Plus, AWS has a ten year warranty, and if you ever call the company, you get a person (I got Kevin twice) who is friendly, knowledgeable and will take whatever time you need.Would buy this again.

great scale but battery backing falls off
I love this because it’s one of the few scales that gives lbs:oz, kg, lbs. works great but the backing to keep the batteries in falls off easy! Still my favorite scale!

Strong, rugged and accurage
After reviewing several scale choices online we picked the American Weigh Scales H-110 Digital Hanging Scale for its max weight and low cost. When we received it we were pleasantly surprised how well it was made. Read on for our evaluation.– NOT INTUITIVE TO SETUP: Its not intuitive to setup but if you read the instructions you can set it up how you want and it is intuitive to use. Just hang the item and read the weight.– NICE STABILIZATION MODE: For our use we set it up to provide a final weight after it stabilizes……this might take 2-3 seconds of letting the item hang on the hook. Once it stabilized the weight value freezes in the display. So if you were holding the scale awkwardly and could see it, this mode allows you to measure then set the item down, turn the scale and read the weight. When the weight is removed the weight remains in the display for about 5 seconds and it resets ready to weigh again without having to press any buttons to reset. This is a nice configuration when have to frequently measure weight.– RUGGEDLY BUILT: Its ruggedly built and strong. We easily hung 40lbs from the scale with no hint of it stressing any attachment point. The handle, hook and body are made from steel. The handle and the hook are stainless steel. Its no surprise its rated for 110lbs.– SEVERAL MEASUREMENT MODES OFFERED: There are other modes of measurement, but we only evaluated the stabilized weight mode.– COMES WITH BATTERIES: The unit does require 2 CR2032 batteries and a nice touch is they are supplied with the scale..– HAS A TAPE MEASURE: there is a built in tape measure which makes this more versatile to use for fishing.– NICE HANDLE: We really like the steel handle and it has a very wide mouth making it easy to slide a 1″ pole through to hang it while making measurements.– ACCURATE: We placed a known 10lb weight on it and it measured accurately to within fractions of an ounce.

Works great to test fishing knot strength
I got this to test the breaking strength of my fishing knots. It does a great job! I was worried that the shock of the line abruptly snapping at +50 lbs might damage the internals, but I used it on 25 different pulls and there were no problems.The scale is much smaller than I expected. My only complaint is that I wish the handle was a little larger. I can barely fit 3 fingers in it.

Great Barn Scale
I purchased this product in 2012, 2022, and again in 2024. I use this in my barn to weigh hay (in a hay net) twice a day. This is a great scale. It is accurate and I am happy with the battery life. I hang the scale from a post with a trailer tie.Just a warning for those purchasing the product, the new model has different “modes”. I had trouble finding the explanation in the on-line manuals but I hit the mode button on the right until the scale did what I wanted. Someone stringing a bow wants the maximum force on the scale. I wanted the “current” weight.

Very Good Product. I purchased it after lot of research. I particularly bought it because it has options to configure how you want to use it. You can configure weight locking in 3 modes.1. Do not lock, which means act like a free spring balance scale. Very useful to me when I weigh live fish. think you have a scenario, you want to weigh 2 kg powder and you want to add little by little, you don’t want to get it locked. this is where this option shines, Most of the weighing scales out there locks to some weight.2. lock weight like most other scales.3. peak weightInstead of clip, it has hook very easy to hang any bag, especially while weighing live fish.Overall I loved the product and I recommend.

Buen producto y muy exacto, la verdad pensé que era más grande pero pues al llegar cumplió con su cometido y al final olvide que era pequeño xq hasta me pareció muy práctico para llevar, su pantalla se ilumina así pum hasta en lugares poco iluminados no tendrás problemas, y me sirve muchísimo en mi trabajo,El único detalle es las baterías que lleva, pero una vez encuentras donde comprarlas te olvidas del detalle.
