EXCELLENT maintenance-free driveway alarm
This is maintenance-free because theres no batteries to change – the solar recharge on the two solar panels (most solar devices only have one) work really well. I like how its shaped like a little birdhouse too, a little easier on the eyes than some obvious camera-looking device, and a bit “kitschy” in a good way.So for tones, I didn’t want the common doorbell sound because it would conflict with my actual doorbell. Of the 30 tones I selected #24 which is a single bell and then a voice that says “driveway”. For reference, #25 says “front door”, #26 says “backyard”, and #27 says “garage”. I would have liked “kitchen” and “den” (since I have separate doors for those) but I only put one in for the driveway for now. It is nice that they put those spoken word tones in there (other brands didn’t have this) – I pretty much picked this one because of those voice prompts.I mounted it on a metal handrail and did have to angle it inward and slightly downward to avoid picking up a common driveway and only our own driveway, but it correctly detects cars coming in/out of the driveway, and delivery people walking past in. It does alert multiple times say if a car is doing a 3-point turn etc. but you get used to that. I wish there were more options for mounting than just screwing in 2 wooden post screws. I didn’t do that. I used 4 black cable-ties and lashed it nice and tight around the metal handrail in all directions, then popped the arm with ball onto it and its secure enough. The ability to point the camera angle a certain way works very well.Whats surprising is the indoor piece has a backup battery in it, and its not clear if thats also rechargeable or is a coin battery that might run out someday. But that keeps its “memory settings” like tone choice and volume level, and also lets you unplug it and still hear the alerts while carrying it in your pocket. This was useful for when I was testing for the proper angle. All in all, really happy with this driveway alarm.EDIT: I discovered that it does in fact lose settings like choice of tone and volume if you switch it off, but not a deal breaker for me since I know the tone I like is #24 (just a little annoying). What’s still true is provided you keep it switched on, you can unplug and carry the indoor piece with you from room to room, for example if you were afraid of not hearing it upstairs etc, and the battery lets it communicate with the outdoor sensor. Still a great product!

Cute Birdhouses that blend in and does their job! We’ve been very happy with them.
These are Great! We purchased them two years ago and still work as good a the day we bought them. We have a very long driveway easily 300ft plus and we have been surprised they work so well. We run a business from home, living on acreage and have a gate entry. We bought them mainly so we would know when we were getting a delivery, but it’s been a nice security alert as well. They blend in so well you can’t really see them on our property. You could paint them to blend in and look like real birdhouses. It has several messages to choose from, however it’d be nice if we could record one to add a specific location. We have it set up now is when someone enters our gate it says “Driveway” as a vehicle etc reaches another location we have it set up for another message that alerts us to how far they are from the house. We know exactly where a vehicle or intruder is at this point and are able to go outside to met/greet whomever came up our driveway. You can mount them with the hardware supplied with on a post or tree, but mounting on our trees we preferred to used zip ties that worked great. They are sensitive to birds, deer or mountain lion as well. We have been able to gauge the time frame between alerts that we can figure out what is going on. They work so well that even our dogs and the bird (a cockatiel) know when someone is coming up the road and go off way in advance as they know what “Drive way” means. It’s pretty funny, but it gives us time to position and prepare ourselves to receive whomever. Great product for a great price. Highly recommended.

Affordable wireless alarm
Purchased this for our driveway, and it was easy to set up and works well with the receiver around 100′ away through 4 walls.Battery: The tree we had available for mounting is shaded much of the day, so even with a couple hours of sunlight on the solar panels, our battery only lasts 4 days, then we have to bring it in to charge overnight. The low battery is quite noticeable because the alarm starts ringing abnormally and/or missing detections.Size: The sensor is smaller than it looked in photos–only about the size of an outstretched hand. The mushroom receiver is a little smaller, but does take up 2 outlets because it covers the other.Alarm sounds: very tinny and cheap-sounding speaker, but you don’t notice from across the room or from other rooms. There are 35 sounds to choose from, but 33 of them are pretty annoying. We found a doorbell-like sound that was the least annoying, but it does ring twice every time it’s activated.Wind has not set off the motion sensor yet but it picks up cars, dogs, and even pheasants in the driveway and up to about 30′ away.Cheap little alarm, but it has worked for over a week now with minimal fuss.

Very helpful to know when someone comes down our driveway. It has worked every time there is movement, it even does it when it is deer walking past. I guess it is a good thing there is so many different chimes, the dogs have already figured out when it goes off what it means, lol.

I use these in my yard in key areas, with a specific sound for each area so i instantly know the spot of entry by the thief. With a camera set up it gives peace of mind. It also signaled to me I had an intruder late one night (most often a squirrel or windy plants). It was a person, they left quickly. I saw that person and, had they stayed on my property I would have had options, simply because I was aware.

My driveway is a winding 1/2 mile long. These work beautifully! I now know well in advance if someone is coming up my driveway. It’s a private road and if someone is snooping around, I get a warning in realtime. Downside, sometimes animals crossing the driveway set them off. Glad I have 2 with 2 different sound settings. If only one goes off in the evening or night, I know it’s an animal not a trespasser. Great comfort.

Pretty good, we’ve had it for almost a year. To see who enters our driveway. It’s quite loud, many sounds to choose from. It has some built in battery in the inside part, so that it still can notify you if it gets pulled out of the stocker by mistake. What I don’t like is that it doesn’t remember the sound when this happens and you have to ccykle through them all. Also there’s no indication of battery on the unit outside, so you have no idea if it’s charged enough, it’s doesn’t always notice people walking, and you don’t know if it’s because of battery or not.
