Easy, reliable and so informative!
When they say easy to install, they are not kidding. Within minutes I had the monitor attached and I was reading the water usage on the Ap. I saw the small amount of usage while no water was running, tested my toilets and replaced the flapper. My next water bill should look a lot better. THANK YOU FLUME for your great product!!

Works great
This was super easy to set up (less than 10 minutes) and the app is easy to use. I really like that this monitors water usage from the meter and not just water from inside my house, so I can also detect a leak in my yard. I was thinking I might have an intermittent toilet running, but now with this set up I know that is not the case. I can also show my teenage exactly how much water he is wasting with his long showers! Overall, this has been a great addition to our house technology. I hope that the battery on the unit lasts a long time.

Easy installation, small price to pay for peace of mind with old piping
Quite possibly the best thing a person can buy for peace of mind. The app crashed a few times when I was trying to install it. This appeared to be related to my battery saver being on during the installation. Disabling battery saver fixed it, but oddly, the app allowed me to pick right back up where I left off e ach time. Since that initial time, no crashes. The setup is very easy. I connected it to a guest wifi so as to keep the traffic distinct from my higher quality traffic. This was no problem as the item reaches out to a cloud server to actually drive the connection to the app.Installation of the hardware was obnoxiously easy — just put it against your water meter dial, parallel to the pipe. The elastic strap holds it in place. The hardware is sealed up inside the device, and when I opened it to look at the battery, I was surprised to see a nice rubber o-ring seal that was lightly compressed by the cover. This should keep things dry even on the rainy days when my water meter manhole gets a bit muddy. It sits well out of the way of the shutoff valve.Despite my gauge being about 2 ft underground and 300 ft from the base station, through old walls that are practically a faraday cage due to plaster-on-wire construction, the connection was instant and gave no issues.About the most painless thing I’ve installed. Even small trickles of water at the sink show up on the meter, because it detects off the leak detection spinner (and calibrates therein). It does take a moment for a water usage to show up on the app, because it refreshes on a minute-by-minute basis, but it appears to account for it all.

Customer Service is Terrible
Bought the Flume 2 in May 2022 thinking it’d be a game-changer for monitoring my water usage and catching leaks. It worked okay for about 3 years until the batteries crapped out (this was the 2nd battery pack over the 3 years. Fine, I figured—popped in an official replacement battery pack from them. Right after that, it turned into a flaky mess: intermittent readings, and eventually, the sensor at my water meter just ghosted the bridge unit on a intermittent basis. No communication, no data, nothing. Useless brick. Now, the real kicker: their “customer support.” has no phone line—only chat through their portal, where responses can take from 10 minutes (best case) to 3-4 hours. The techs are polite enough, but it’s clear they’re drowning in tickets. They’ll remote-check your device, tell you “everything looks good, it should be fine now,” and boom—it’s still broken. I went through this loop multiple times, wasting days of my life. Overwhelmed doesn’t even cover it; it’s a joke. Fast-forward to today (November 2025), and out of sheer optimism (or stupidity), I shelled out for the upgraded Flume 2X. Install was a breeze—15 minutes, no sweat. But god forbid anything goes wrong with this one too. Based on my Flume 2 horror show, I’ll be dreading that chat roulette all over again. Bottom line, this isn’t reliable tech; it’s a headache waiting to happen. It’s possible that Flume has fixed the WiFi issues in the Flume 2X but they need to fix their support before peddling more of these.

Simple install, massive savings.
Exceptional at tracking water usage down to the minute. Installation was a breeze—no tools, no mess, and done in under 5 minutes. It’s already helping me cut waste, and at this rate, it’ll pay for itself in no time. A must-have for anyone looking to lower their water bill.

Easy to install and a lot of good data
The Flume water sensor was easy to install. I liked that I was able to install it myself and didn’t have to hire a plumber to install it. The app is easy to use and has been reliable so far. I love getting the water usage data and look forward to it preventing small leaks turning into big losses.

It Functions Well But I Wish the Instructions Were Better
This product installed super easy and functions as designed. It worked on my meter even though it’s a pretty long distance from my house. The app walked me through the installation and it was so simple, I think anybody could do it.However, it seems to be lacking on how’s the details on how device works. There are start up instructions included, but not much more. If you were to have a problem, you’d have to contact a chat line because I couldn’t find any telephone number, however they claim the chat line is open twenty four hours a day.The app seems to be powerful, but there’s not much explanation on how to navigate it. It’s just not very user friendly at the moment.Just a note, there are also details of your usage on their website at flumewater.com . You can see what categories of your usage are labeled, even correct mislabeled categories there as well on the app. The company tries to automatically detect the category using A.I. but right now, it misses occasionally.I’m happy I bought it, it seems to be very sensitive, and the application seems to be powerful, the software just needs to be fine-tuned in the future. But it still does a good basic job telling me about my water use, which was my main objective, but it could be even better.
