Great value
It is smaller than I thought it would be but it actually fits real nice where I want it. This Garmin works perfectly. A great value for the money!!!!

Perfect GPS that I can talk to.
Exactly what I wanted. GPS with windshield holder ready to go out of the box. I really like that it is voice activated and that I go tell it where I want to go and not have to punch it in.

Garmin is very dependable and worth the money.
I can use it in any vehicle even if I don’t have my phone with me. You can use it for hands free phone answering, which is very handy if your car doesn’t have it. I’ve depended on Garmin for about 35 years in my business vehicle. For the money, it paid for itself the first time I used it. The last one that I owned, I had for about 15 years. It lived in the vehicle, outside in all kinds of weather, in the glove boxes.

I wish that another working device was offered.
Garnin device did not function.

Good unit at an inexpensive price.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I have an old one and it worked great for many years. It quit suddenly when it got “fried” due to being left in the car during extreme heat. The replacement was inexpensive and works just fine. Pricier units just give you bells and whistles that you don’t need or will seldom use.

Mediocre for the price
Unit is smaller than I expected. It’s also dumber than the Nuvi 2599 it replaced. the old unit was much better at finding services, food and gas, etc. I wasn’t planning on having to train a new GPS, but the technology doesn’t get any better.

Larger screen is nice
Works well poor cell phone reception when receiving calls

A welcome upgrade
I bought the Garmin SmartDrive 55 to replace a Nuvi 42 that was 12 years old (still working) but couldn’t accept new map updates because there was no micro SD slot. I have given the Garmin 55 a road test in town and am wowed with the screen resolution, map displays, touchscreen/data entry ease, and phone pairing options with the Garmin SmartDrive app — live traffic, phone/text calls, notifications, etc. This unit is larger and brighter than the Nuvi it replaces, offers far more connectivity options, and is easy to read. It has a visual indicator that lets you know when you’ve exceeded the speed limit, and an audio alert when the speed limit decreases. I had no difficulty setting it up and pairing it with my phone, thanks to detailed Help menus that Garmin includes. A special joy was discovering that Garmin preserved the cheerful voice of ‘Michele’ that accompanied me on so many road trips with the Nuvi and is now my voice selection in the new unit. This is a reasonably priced GPS unit considering all that it offers, and I’m glad I upgraded.
