BEST lamp I’ve ever had!
I never write reviews. It’s 100% easier to NOT write a review. Call it lazy, call it…uh, mmm, nope…there’s only the one way to call it. 😏Only because I absolutely ADORE this lamp, am I taking the time to post my (unpaid for) opinion.First: Shipping. FAST- I received my lamp within 24 hrs! I had ordered it on Prime Day (a lightning deal I think) so I got it for $109.99. A great price! I wish I had bought 2 or even 3. I want to hold out for another sale, but I just love this lamp so much and want another for my bedroom, so I’m considering just buying it at full price because it’s still a deal for the value this product brings.Second: Packaging. There is an “Apple” quality to the packaging from start to finish. That is to say, they put thought into everything, giving an instant sense of quality and craftsmanship.Third: Assembly. I’m a 53yr old woman with average body type and it took me less than 10 minutes to put this together. There are only 6 parts, and that’s counting the pole as 3 of those 6!Fourth: Design. Again, very “Apple-like” both in look and feel. Actual lamp material is like a heavy glass cylinder that is sleek, high tech and looks expensive. The base is heavy so I’m not worried about tipping, but the lamp bulb seems very durable and not too fragile. I like the minimalist look and can see it fitting into many different decors, with it’s versatility.Fifth: The Govee app. It was simple and painless! Just as easy was pairing it with Alexa. I am far from a tech savvy person, and if it was easy for me, it will almost certainly be easy for 99% of humanity.Sixth: Entertainment. WHO KNEW LIGHTING COULD BE SO FUN?!?! I played for an hour with the different scenes and colors, etc. Again, the app is so user friendly, I had no trouble toggling thru all the different scenes and colors, etc. One of my favorites is in the video I posted. The scene is called “fire” and my oh my, does it instantly make the room feel cozy and romantic. The warm white for everyday is great. The lamp gives off a bright glow without any glare. Finally, to that fun part-I can see this lamp becoming such an asset when setting the tone for holidays. There are several holiday themes, and I particularly love the Halloween scene. Viewing it, even though it’s July, instantly gives Halloween vibes and I’m excited just envisioning putting that scene on come October!All this to say if you are on the fence, hop off and click that buy button. You won’t regret it!

Incredible lamp
Beautiful colors created by this light can be what ever you want them to be. I have two lamps, one on each side of my bedroom and the govee tv backlight 3 and they all work together be it during a movie or music or have fun with my grandchildren. Love the ease of use of the app. It was easy to set up. You can hear in the video I have it working with a specific name and via Alexa. It also work along side my alarms in the morning to slowly turn on the light on my side of the bed for me. It can go low enough to be a nightlight or bright enough to light up an entire room. I got mine when they were on sale but would buy again if anything should happen to these. They are built well so I expect them to last for years. Govee products have always done well for me in the past and I plan to continue to buy them it the future. If you want more than a boring lamp then get you one of these. Some of the colors that I was like why do they have that I now find to be a fun background to my video games or play time with family. The were worth the money. Buy yours, you will love them.

No problem! Here’s the updated review with that added:This Govee cylinder floor lamp is absolutely amazing. It has an incredible range of colors, and you can easily adjust the brightness from soft ambient light to bright and vibrant. The app offers so many fun options, including themed lighting for holidays like Christmas and Halloween, lava lamp–style effects, and dynamic modes where the lights dance and move. You can customize scenes, set moods, and even sync it for special effects. It also pairs with an Echo Dot, so Alexa can control it, as well as your phone. It completely transforms the room and adds such a cool, modern vibe. This is definitely a five-star purchase—especially since I got it on sale. It’s worth every dime, and I highly recommend it.

Great lamp, great company, great support
I wanted a lamp to both add cool lighting to my living room, and be functional as a bright light source for working on my laptop, this does both. I mostly use the scenes when I am chilling out, and the bright white illumination when performing work. The app makes it easy to switch between both seamlessly and seems to have a lot more features than I even use myself, maybe someday. The scenes are one of my favorite things to use and there are quite a lot of good ones that add a certain vibe to the room (fireflies is my favorite).Lastly, I’ve owned this for nearly a year now and about a month ago I started seeing weird colors in the lamp when using scenes which is not normal. I contacted Govee support and they were extremely helpful and amenable, and responding quickly to boot. I was able to resolve the issue in only a few days and the team was very responsive, thanks!

Build quality could be better!
I’ve been a fan of Govee products ever since they started to deliver quality tech at a fraction of the cost of Philips hue which was the only decently functional smart lighting & power solution at the time. However, I do think that a lot of what you’re paying for now is the ecosystem & tech they’ve built rather than the build quality of the product itself, especially in this case. I wish it was a little heavier given the cost but it is cool and works just fine. Lots of lighting/color options as expected and the LEDs are dense enough to not create hotspots. Assembly was a breeze and it’s a nice size such that it works as a standalone lamp or in a twin configuration next to a TV or on either sides of a bed. If you don’t pay “full price”, then I’d say it’s good value since the tech is user-friendly.

Got this for my teenage daughter and she loves it for her room. Amazing amount of colour and pattern options and the app is super easy to use (iPhone). As a graphic artist she loves the ability to customise the patterns. Very well made and easy to assemble, hefty enough to stand solid on carpet. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to brighten up a room or have something more interesting to look at than a standard lamp.
