While this device is ok for general large field measures, I would not recommend this device for measuring smaller (less than 1/4 acre areas or perimeters. Use a wheel or tape instead. You get what you pay for here.1. I ran the same tape-measured, 7-point course, 10 different times. The course was in an open field with clear view to sky and no surrounding trees or structures. The device gave me very different measurements off by many meters each time.2. I used both the auto tracking and track point functions in my test runs, but only needed the track point function.3. There was no elevation data with any of the measurements. This was a necessary piece of information for my uses.4. Couldn’t tell if the device needed to be held horizontal or vertical for taking measurements. This may have partially accounted for the widely different measurement results.5. The downloaded track point record data only included summarized results for that record, and only lat./long. information for each course point – no distance or elevation measurements between points. Needed to manually calculate this information with other tools.6. Noticed the device LED light (on back) was always on. Why? Could not figure out how to turn it off.All in all, the device worked but not to my satisfaction or my needs. Returning immediately and looking for something else.

Quick charging GPS land meter that looks great as well as works great. It is small in size and fits right in my hiking bag. Easy to use and provides an accurate read. I’m taking this each time I step out on a hike.
