Great Upgrade if Your Old Subwoofer Is Worn Out
I bought the Klipsch R-8SW to replace an older subwoofer that had lost its punch. This one made a huge difference immediately. The bass is cleaner, tighter, and much more noticeable when watching movies or listening to music. What I like:• Strong bass for its size – The 8-inch driver hits harder than I expected.• Very clean sound – Not muddy or boomy like my old sub became over time.• Easy setup – Plug into the receiver’s sub output, adjust gain, done in minutes.• Compact size – Fits easily in a living room without taking up a lot of space.• Great build quality – Solid cabinet and the brushed black finish looks sharp.Real world use:Movies feel more immersive, especially during action scenes. Music also sounds fuller with much better low end. It blends nicely with my surround speakers instead of overpowering them.Possible downside:If you’re trying to fill a very large room or want extremely deep theater-level bass, you may want a larger sub. But for small to medium rooms this thing performs great.Bottom line:If your old subwoofer is worn out or weak, this is an excellent replacement. Klipsch makes solid gear and this one delivers strong, clean bass at a very reasonable price.Highly recommended.

    Great subwoofer for the price!
I purchased this to replace an old Definitive SuperCube subwoofer that had failed. I did quite a bit of research, reading multiple reviews from several audio review websites. I must admit to being skeptical that this subwoofer, which cost much less than my Definitive subwoofer, would be as good. I am happy to report that the Klipsch R-8SW is as good as my old Definitive subwoofer.

Pops when you turn it off! 😠
Slick, compact, powerful, pet-friendly down-fitting woofer. Almost great. It’s not wireless, which I don’t mind. You can always adapt it. It’s also the smallest sub from Klipsch. Unfortunately, there is no soft power down. When the signal cuts off, there is a pop. Maybe it’s my speakers, but those are Klipsch the Fives. This should not be happening!Oh, the low bass is powerful. Keep it at 80hz- it is not punchy. Even though it’s effective and easily overpowers a room, it’s relying on excursion of the smaller woofer. Therefore, bass heads living in open barns should size up. This unit’s Achilles heel is dynamics (and punch, thus keep it crossed over low for lots listening). It still will put down way more rumble than you need-and as much as anyone should probably want. To be fair, I find I turn it down for most movies and shows-almost never up. I’ve never had a problem with to much bass for any music-not even old school 90s Miami bass rap.

    Great little subwoofer
This is a great little subwoofer. I have it in my living room for home theater system. Great low range bass. I like it better than the Polk subwoofer that I have in a different room. Great option for the price too.

    Sounds great.
It’s smaller than the one it’s replacing but the sounds good.

Great small room sub! Wont disturb the neighbors. Music and movies both sound great!
Perfect for studio/small apartment! I wanted something that would provide bass for a small room but not shake the walls and windows and upset the neighbors. This speaker is it! You can fine tune it for your listening preference and honestly if you have it up far enough it will rattle the walls no problem. I leave it about half way and thats perfect for me. Also has a small footprint and goes almost unnoticed. I had an older Pioneer powered sub with dual 6.5s. This is much better sounding. I listen to a mix of music and movies and the sub works great for both. Dont expect booming low level bass because thats not what this is. It does a nice job even at high levels. It just doesnt rumble your dome off!

    A bit disappointed.
This subwoofer suffers from port noise when giving it even a moderate amount of beans. It sounds like the speaker bottoming out, but it isn’t. It’s good enough for the bookshelf speakers I’m pairing it with, but if I were to do it again I would buy something else. I am not the first to complain about the port noise issue.

Outstanding performance in such a little box.I have wooden floors in my living room with carpet on top and i can feel the bass in my chest at 15% gain. Looks simple but great. Size is small with great performance

I had a 20 year old subwoofer that I thought was “good enough” because I thought my hearing was going anyway. This subwoofer with the matching Bookshelf speakers BLOWS ME AWAY. The clarity is amazing even on ultralow bass notes while what I thought was hearing loss abruptly vanished. Midranges are crisp and undistorted and I can barely crank the sub up past 1 on the knob without it actually becoming visceral enough to vibrate a solid concrete high rise apartment. Once you find the right EQ and Levels these speakers outperform anything else I’ve ever owned.
