Great Product/Poor Documentations and Product Support
Because the product is well made and works flawlessly, I would’ve given it a 5-stars review; however, the product documentation and customer support are seriously lacking. A customer has to search the internet community for specific instructions for many of the setup and configuration features that are normally included with the product documentation or via tech support; a total shame, since it would take minimum effort to provide the written instructions to do so. Here are some examples:Including a QR code in the documentation, to download the TUYA APP to control the device, would be very useful.The instructional videos associated with setup/programming, WIFI connectivity, and sharing the device are sorrily incomplete, they have gaps in the details for a person, unfamiliar with the product, to successfully complete some tasks.I had to rely on YouTube videos to successfully share the device, and there are no written instructions to be followed by the person being invited.The documentation does NOT provide a single bit of instructions for the use and setup of doorbell chime. Searched the web far-and-wide for a solution, but found only others with the same problem, and people asking for if anyone knew how to do so. Through ChatGPT, I was finally able to setup/program the doorbell chime (instructions are include below)CUSTOMER SUPPORT: The product documentation includes a phone number based in California; however, that number exists only to collect problems details and pass them on to the seller or manufacturer, with the promise that they will contact you via email message. My attempt to get some kind of support, yielded no result. Nearly a week ago I provided my contact information and help request details, I’m still waiting for a reply to my request.Finally, below are the instructions for setting up the doorbell chime:Step-by-step: Connect the chime to power3. Plug the chime into USB powero Use any USB power adapter (e.g., old phone charger) or a USB port in your house.o The chime needs 5 V USB power — a standard USB-A port works fine. CNX Software – Embedded Systems News4. Place the chime somewhere in rangeo Ideally within ~15–30 feet of the door locko Avoid heavy walls or interferenceo It doesn’t need to be visible from the lock — just in wireless vicinity. Test ito Press the lock’s doorbell a few more times to confirm the chime rings consistently.

Non-functional lock and camera; abysmal customer service based in China
The lock worked okay for about a week. The camera is not particularly sensitive at picking up motion, and it has delays, but overall the lock worked for my purpose.HOWEVER, problems arose after the lock was not used for two weeks while I was out out of town. While away the app when “offline”. When I arrived home I found the batter to be dead, despite a full charge when I left. I recharged the battery but was unable to get the lock to work again. I tried resetting the lock to factory settings, which was unsuccessful. I spent a couple hours troubleshooting the lock without success.I next called the US based customer service phone number posted on the lock. The phone rang several times then when to a voicemail that does not state that it is “Lockzo”. I left a voicemail; no one called back within 24 hrs. I tried two more times in the subsequent days but was never able to get ahold of anyone.Next I emailed the customer service line with a very detailed message of my issue and a step-by-step outline of what I had tried to do to fix it without success. About 24hrs later I received an email back that appeared to be Chinese characters translated to english. The message had a couple troubleshooting options which I had tired, but had already failed. It also said to create a video of my exact issue and what I was doing to try and fix it. I complied and sent my video off. Twenty four hours later I received a reply asking me to film a second video; none of my questions in the first two emails were addressed. I complied and responded. Twenty four hours later I received another reply asking me to film a video describing my problem, which is exactly what I had done 2 times already. The message also stated that the device can go into “sleep” mode if it isn’t used for a week or two. Nowhere in the manual or online is there mention of a sleep mode of this product or how to exit this mode. There appears to be no way to reset it once it enters this mode.After several hours of troubleshooting without success, multiple communications with customer service which were frustrating and not helpful, I am now dissembling the lock and returning it to the seller. This has been a very frustrating experience and I cannot overstate how strongly I would recommend NOT purchasing a Lockzo product.
