Little or no user-manual information …. AND, IS NOT A COMPLETE SYSTEM – BUT IT WORKS!!!!!
Again, another Update to 5 stars – after never being able to contact the manufacturer or being able to download the software for this product – I finally figured out on my own how to operate and use this system – Overall, now that I have fine-tuned this system – it works very well, is non-complicated, no frills, where I can quickly review my playbacks.Updating this review with a star-downgrade from 2 stars to 1 start – a “no buy” rating. After sending out questions to people who “supposedly” reviewed this product and gave it favorable reviews – did not get any responses. Tried contacting a company whose name was on the one-sheet paper that came with the product, “Hztaoshi”. Hztaoshi has a legitimate website which has to be translated into English. There are some downloads available, but they are in the form of “RVR” files – this is an unknown file type to my computer system and I could not open the files.Submitted a request for a return of this product today – great, now I have to pack-up all the cables, cameras and accessories, and start over with a different brand.This is not a complete system, you need a MONITOR and additional power supplies and additional ethernet cable for network connection?Comes with little or no user-manual information!!!! While the one page sheet enclosed is not accurate at all. How does the PTZ camera function work or why does it not work? Here it does not. What are the power requirements for the cameras besides poe? Do the cameras require additional power supplies as shown on the one-page sheet in order for PTZ to work? If so, what is the voltage and polarity requirements?What do all abbreviations mean? Why does the NVR not recognize my network unless hardwired? Why does my network not recognize the NVR, regardless if is wired or not? Besides no ethernet cable is provided for hardwire to your network router.How do you add a IPC camera? or can you? I tried, but it did not work. The password setup makes no sense and does not work if you try to uses passwords. Troubleshooting? No company contact information to be found anywhere – I need an e-mail address. The list goes on ……. The one-page sheet has a little square “Warranty” card-like image, that apparently is to be filled out? So, then what do you do with it? There is no company name or address anywhere on the product, information-sheet or shipping box.Needing a monitor, I suppose I could use my TV set – only when I am not watching it – or find an old one?This system appears to be well-made and good quality – having a lot of potential. How can a company spend so much money producing a product – only to release it without properly informing buyers how to use it? So far, very disappointed.

Huge upgrade from an old CCTV system
This system has replaced my six or seven year old Zosi 4 CCTV camera DVR system that was still working but unfortunately Zosi had shut down the server for. The Zosi app no longer works for viewing remotely from an android device.I was able to connect the new ethernet cables to the old RCA/power cables for the CCTV cameras and pull them through so the installation, while still pretty involved, wasn’t too bad. It took around 3 hours I think to do the swap-over. If you’re doing a fresh install and you want to route the cables cleaning through your attic or crawl space, plan on it taking a day or two.It is a pretty massive upgrade in every way. The new DVR unit appears to be capable of driving cameras with a lot more features than the ones included, such as motorized mounts, mics/speakers and motion detectors. The included cameras are pretty basic, though they do include a light bar for the dual purpose of being a not-so-subtle indicator that there’s a camera present, and providing some traditional lighting in addition to IR for night time clarity. The cameras also provide a great high definition image from their stream.There are multiple connectivity options and I’m pretty sure I could just use software on my PC such as zoneminder to directly view the PoE cameras if the DVR died or became inoperable due to the company dropping support as with the Zosi system. The app that is recommended via the QR code that pops up when you first fire up the system actually is pretty highly rated in the App Store for a product like this (3.8 I think?). It works well, is intuitive to use, and hasn’t done anything to annoy me yet.Hopefully the longevity is there and this one lasts me at least six or seven years. A couple of weeks in and I’m very happy with it.
