Ring Wired Doorbell Pro , a new sheriff is in town.
Upgraded from Blink to Ring Pro Wired Doorbell.Installation was a breeze, instructions easy to follow and simple. Video quality through the roof, bird’s eye view jaw dropping.I considered several Ring doorbell options, but even though Ring Wired Doorbell Pro is considerably higher priced it’s worth it. There is a few seconds delay after motion activated to get alerts on my IPhone but it’s due WiFi bandwidth, so no complaints. Live view no delays. It includes a chime that is installed to your existing home doorbell chime, works perfectly. Excellent product .Ring always home‼️

Big step up in clarity and coverage — this is the best Ring wired doorbell I’ve used
I upgraded from an older Nest wired model to the new Ring Doorbell Pro (2025 version) about 2 months ago, and the difference is noticeable right away. The 4K Retinal video is sharp — day or night. Faces are clear even 15–20 feet away, and the HDR handles bright sun and shadows much better than my previous Ring. The ultra-wide 150°+ field of view captures the entire porch and most of the walkway without fisheye distortion, so I no longer miss packages or people approaching from the side.10x digital zoom actually works well — you can pinch in on recordings and still make out details that were blurry on older models. Motion zones are precise, and the pre-roll (4 seconds before motion) catches people before they even press the button.Wired install was straightforward (reused existing doorbell wiring), and power is consistent — no battery anxiety. The two-way audio is crisp on both ends, and the quick replies feature is handy when I’m busy. Night vision is bright and clear with color in decent porch light.Only small downside: the new design sits a bit prouder from the wall than some older models, so it sticks out more if your mounting surface is recessed. Not a big deal, but noticeable up close. For anyone wanting the clearest video, widest coverage, and reliable wired performance, this is worth the upgrade. Package theft attempts are down because people know they’re being recorded clearly. 5 stars — best Ring wired doorbell to date.

Great camera all around!
This ring camera works great. I’m happy that they included the doorbell adapter to change the analog interior door doorbell. Overall set up was really easy. It took me about 30 minutes to do the camera and the doorbell on the inside. The camera connected right away to my current system. I do have the bare minimum doorbell transformer required to run it and so far I haven’t had any problems. The picture quality is way better than the old ring camera and it is nice to not have to go out and change the battery periodically.

Very Disappointing Downgrade Disguised As An Upgrade!
I replaced a Ring Video Doorbell Pro (1st gen), expecting equal or better performance. The new model removed pixel‑based motion detection and relies on radar and infrared, which caps detection distance to ~20–30 ft. It misses events my old doorbell caught effortlessly (such as someone at my mailbox or walking up my driveway, both more than 30 ft away from the doorbell). The extremely wide-angle camera lens probably doesn’t help, reducing objects at a distance to fewer image pixels to analyze. Ring’s marketing implies improved detection, but doesn’t disclose the reduced range or the removal of camera‑based motion detection. The recommended 56‑inch mounting height is impossible for most homes with existing wiring. This is a downgrade disguised as an upgrade.Simple Comparison: Old Ring Pro vs. New Ring Pro (3rd Gen)1. What the old Pro did well• Detected anything moving in the camera view — people, cars, packages, you name it• Let you draw motion zones that actually worked• “People Only” mode filtered out almost all false alerts• Caught motion far down the driveway or sidewalk2. What the new Pro does instead• Only detects motion inside a short bubble in front of the door• Often misses people until they’re very close• Motion Zones don’t help if the doorbell never detects motion in the first place• Recommended mounting height doesn’t match where most doorbells are wired3. Bottom lineThe older Pro detected more, detected earlier, and filtered better. The new Pro detects less, detects later, and hides the downgrade behind marketing terms.Ring could fix this by processing video uploads at the server level and restoring pixel-motion analysis AI-based detection. I recommend you don’t buy this Ring doorbell until they do. Yes, the image sharpness and the improved night vision are fantastic. Love that. But detecting anything outside the 20 to 30 ft bubble sucks big time. I feel like I wasted $250. 🙁

Ring Doorbell Pro
Happy to upgrade to the Pro. We couldn’t find a mount to fit (I bought two types) so I had to return them. We used the wedge that came with the Pro and it worked perfectly even though the angle (about a 20) looked small it worked for my needs. Love the Pro’s picture at night, so clear, video zooms easily, and the AI feature describing what’s going on outside is pretty cool but after the trial period I won’t pay for it. I had to upgrade the transformer to a 16-24v, and buy a new Chime for my bedroom as my current one didn’t work with the Pro. The doorbell is solid metal so no button cracking like my old one.

New AI features make it finicky.
Installed yesterday, picture s great compared to my old pro doorbell. But the motion detection is hot of miss, if I turn everything off and then back on with the sliders it works and then an hour later it doesn’t.I noticed there is a free trial for the AI features, I didn’t turn them on but clicked the settings and saw they were on by default. Turned everyone of them off and now my motion and alerts seem to be working fine.If you’re having issues you might want to go int the settings and turn off all the extra stuff that you don’t need.Install and set were easy since I was replacing an old model. New device seems very good quality, and since I was replacing an old device it connected to my WIFI without even needing to use my password.
