Frustrating Install. . .being Returned
The super frustrating experience. Tried for al45 minutes to connect it to alexa, both as directed by the poorly written instructions and using chatGpt for help. Basically, chatgpt eventually said, given what it discovered about this product, I couldn’t get it done. Now, some people have done it, but I for the life of me I couldn’t get it done, so it’s being returned.

Works great and easy to connect with Alexa
The device works great and is one of the easiest devices that we have linked to Alexa.Everything needed to connect the switch to an existing wall electrical box is included and the installation is easy. One installation item to note is that the wiring directions on the back of the switch indicate that white is L and red is N, but the wires indicate that red is L and white is N (see the images). The paper instructions show a different wire layout on the device than existed on the one that was shipped (see the image of the back page). For ours, the proper configuration was for the white wire to go to the neutral and the red to go to the hot. If you are unsure, please seek assistance from a qualified electrician.Once wired, the device was extremely easy to connect to Alexa. The device does not require an app to connect. Simply have the dive powered on and verbally ask Alexa to find new devices. She found our switch (the default identified label was as a light, not a switch) immediately and all controls worked properly (turns on, off, dims to the different levels, etc.).The switch appears to be constructed out of sturdy materials and the front plate is thicker than expected, giving a very sturdy installed unit.The switch has a green light that turns on when the switch is on and the position of the green light indicates the current power setting on a 7-position scale, with higher to the right. When asking Alexa to set the light to maximum, the highest setting is used. When asking Alexa to set the light to minimum, the second to lowest setting is used, however, this is true with most lighting bulbs/switches that have a larger scale for dimming. That is, for this switch, Alexia seems to use 25% as the minimum even though the light can go lower. If you instead ask Alexia to set to 10%, the switch will go to a lower setting (also indicated by the green led). The manual increase and decrease can also be used to lower the level below the Alexia minimum, as desired.The manual switches (on, off, plus, minus) all work as expected and have a solid feel to them. Everything about this switch seems to be sturdy and high quality. We did not use the faceplate since the switch is in a double box, but it also seems well made and is the newer style which does not have mounting screws on the front plate.All in all, this seems a great switch and we are very happy with it.

Works Great, Easy Install.
This switch installed easy and works fine. It comes with the wire nuts, cover plate and screws necessary to install it. There are 4 wires – power line in, light line out, neutral and ground. There is a wiring diagram permanently cast on the back of the case which is convenient if the instructions are lost which will happen. You need to have a neutral wire for the switch to work. Just power down the switch at the main electrical box, remove the old switch, connect the 4 wires on this switch using wire nuts, and install the switch in its box. When I turned the power back on, the light worked perfectly. It is a dimmer switch and has separate buttons for on, off, dim and brighten. It is easy to adjust the brightness- just hold the dim or bright button until the desired level of brightness is reached. It remembers the level set when turned off so the same level comes on the next time the switch is turned on. It installed easily to my Alexa app. Just turn it on and tell Alexa to discover new devices. In less than a minute, it was installed and given a generic name. I changed the name in the Alexa app and it can be controlled by voice. You can even set the brightness level by voice by stating a percentage. The only reason for four stars is I have no idea how durable this switch is. It appears to have good build quality but It is replacing one that was about two years old so I’m a little fussy about durability.

These work great
Very happy with this unit as well as others I own. I actually have more than one set, and I can say that they play nicely together. I have not tried to set them up on WiFi, and not likely that I will. We don’t have Alexa, we do have Google. I hear that they do not work with Google anyway, but as I say…really not important to us. Even having Google with lights that will work with it, we seldom actually operate them via Google.I have different configurations in different rooms of our home using these. They were first and especially helpful when I was needing to add a switch to a 3-way system, making it a 4-way. By using this instead, I did not need to run extra wiring since the remote is not hard wired.Impressed enough that as I was upgrading some of the lighting in our home, I felt adding dimming ability would be helpful. And by the way, if you dim the light and later turn it off. When you turn it back on again later, it will go back to the last setting. I do like that feature as well.If you are thinking of installing a 3-way or more, you will likely spend as much in additional 14/3 wire alone as you will using these units. Do note however that the switch portion of these does require a “common” wire, and most switch boxes do not contain them. So you may need to have one run from the light box to this switch of 14/3 so that you can include that common from the light box. But that will all depend on how your system is wired. However, those are the only wires you will need for switches to that light.Very happy so far and recommend them…so far.
