Very sturdy and so easy to install!
***Edited at the end to add solution to wifi/gateway installation issues! READ THIS BEFORE INSTALLING YOUR LOCK***So far I am extremely happy with this lock. It is very strong and heavy duty. Still setting up the WiFi but everything else has been pretty easy. I am hoping to edit this review later to add a video or two showing installation. There isn’t a lot of instructions for setting up the wifi, and I am having some issues with that, but hope to contact customer support today.The door handle itself is a breeze to install–keeping in mind that when you receive the set the handle is in the lock position so when you install the outside part of the handle, since it IS locked, the handle turns freely without engaging and pulling the latch. That is how this lock functions–the handle turns, but does not engage with the latch. When you install a regular door handle the handle won’t turn if the door is locked…this one it does turn, it just doesn’t do anything. When the door is unlocked, the handle turns and engages the latch so you can open the door. I found this to be a little confusing as I installed the door and was concerned that I missed a step. There is nothing in the instructions that advises you that this is normal, and if you are used to installing non electronic locks, it can make you wonder if it is defective or if you missed something.The fingerprint function is incredible. So quick. You do need to do many fingerprints in the app (which uses up the “100” fingerprints allowed, but it is still more than sufficient. It is important to get the print from as many angles as possible.The bluetooth app works really well and is straightforward. Took less than five minutes to install the app, sign up, and recognize the lock. It would help a lot if they also went one step further and included more detailed instructions on installing the gateway and recognizing the lock. The instructions that come with the gateway are only for setting up the gateway and gateway app. I have the gateway and app set up, it is connected to my wifi, but it does not find my door lock. The Quick Setup instructions for the door lock on how to enable the network discovery fails and I have not figured out how to manually start the bluetooth pairing function on the door lock. I have tried reinstalling the batteries (which initially did start the pairing) but that didn’t work. I will edit this review with instructions once I have checked with support.Gateway issues aside (that could just be my misunderstanding) this lock is one of the most solid I have installed (I have changed out most of the handles and locks on our house) and I highly recommend it. Technology always has bumps, and it is worth a bit of figuring out to have years of convenience.***Gateway issues resolved, thanks to Joey with Amazon Tech Support”””I noticed that there is a warning that this door lock is freequently returned, and I do suspect that it has to do with getting it to hook up to your internet and for me, Alexa. I could NOT get the door lock into pairing mode.Here is what caused the issue: I tend to read and follow instructions. 🙂 In this case, that was part of the problem. As you follow the instructions, they only walk you through installing the Tuya App, which is the app that controls the bluetooth functions of the lock. Once you install the app and put the batteries in for the first time, the app and lock talk to each other and pair up almost instantly–which makes you feel GREAT! BUT–if you do all that before setting up the gateway (install the Smart Life App, plug in the gateway module, pair the Smartlife/gateway) then you won’t be able to connect to both. In my case, I had set up Tuya and paired with the door lock, set up my user account etc. That’s why I couldn’t connect to the gateway.I had to reset it all to factory settings, then plug in the gateway, connect it to the internet, then, while in the gateway app (Smart Life) I put the gateway into pairing mode, then put the door lock into pairing mode (on the activated keypad) O + Checkmark, it asks for the admin key which is the factory set admin (BEFORE YOU SET UP ANY ACCOUNTS) enter the factory admin key, and as soon as I did that the door and gateway all paired and I got a success message!The real key is DO NOT SET UP ANY PERSONAL ACCOUNTS before you pair the gateway with the lock. You don’t need to pair.Now when I go into the Tuya app, I don’t see the door lock, but when I go into the Smart Life App, it is there and I am able to control everything, including personal accounts, from there.If you do have any other issues, do try calling Amazon Tech support–it worked well for me!

Solid Physical and Software Design
I have been purchasing and using smart locks ever since they first became available, and this one is easily my favorite and among the best I’ve tried. I was very impressed with the packaging, and the instruction manual is clear and easy to follow. Unlike many other smart locks, this one is made of solid metal rather than cheap plastic, which gives it a premium feel. Its compact physical design avoids taking up unnecessary space. I also love the multiple unlocking options, including fingerprint, keypad, IC card, and more. Overall, it has an excellent design, is feature-rich, and is very easy to install and operate.

Locked us out of the house
I would give it no stars if possible. I bought this lock for my 80 year old moms front door.It locked her out of her house twice. She panics when things like this happen. It left her crying for an hour till I could get there to help. The chip card finally did work.Nothing would work after a week. Not even the key would work.We have our Family Christmas gathering a couple weeks after Christmas. So she didn’t even get the thing until a couple weeks after Christmas. By the time it was installed and then Uninstalled it was out of the return window.If you buy this lock maybe purchase the warranty with it.
