Fantastic Matter Outdoor Smart Outlet
I’m extremely impressed with this Matter outdoor smart outlet. From the moment I plugged it in, the setup process was incredibly smooth and simple, easily one of the quickest smart home additions I’ve ever made. A standout feature for me is having two distinct outlets, which can each be controlled completely independently. This level of flexibility is fantastic for managing different outdoor lights or decorations without needing multiple devices. The fact that it operates using Matter over Wi-Fi is a huge plus, ensuring broad compatibility and a straightforward connection.What truly makes this device a winner in my book is its seamless integration with Home Assistant. Easy setup
I picked up the TP-Link Tapo Matter Outdoor Smart Plug and it’s been one of those “why didn’t I do this sooner” purchases.Setup was surprisingly easy. It connected quickly and worked right away with my setup, no weird hiccups or long troubleshooting sessions. Once it was up, it just stayed connected, which is honestly half the battle with smart plugs.I’m using it outside for lights, and it’s been solid. Handles the elements without any issues, and the build feels like it can actually live outdoors instead of just pretending to. The outlets are spaced well too, so you’re not fighting bulky plugs.What I really like is the control. Scheduling is simple, and being able to turn things on or off from your phone, or just use voice control, makes everyday stuff a little easier. Best smart dimmer on the market
This TP-Link Tapo smart dimmer is amazing! I spent months searching for a good pair of smart string lights, but I could not find any. So, I decided to buy regular string lights that I really like and then I’m using them with this dimmer which turns those lights into smart lights. I can control my string lights using this dimmer through the well designed Tapo app. I was able to connect my device within 30 seconds, then calibrate the lights in another minute, and I’m up and running. It feels like it’s made of very good quality, perfect for the outdoors. It’s got the safety features that I was looking fo, and it’s an excellent price. I love this dimmer so much that I’m going to buy another one.

Great plug, very VERY short plug
The plug paired instantly and has been working well. It feels solid and well made. However, the plastic covers that cocer the outlets are flimsy and just barely seat in the outlet. It’s been very reliable though and feels very sturdy. The cord that plugs into the wall is extremely short as well, it hangs off and outlet and only gices you about 6″ to work with, so you will always need an extension cord. These things aside: the build os good, the reliability seems good so far and the cord from the outlet, although short, is very thick and feels to be good, high quality.

Perfectly Suited for Multiple Applications. Energy Savers
These things are heavy duty and easy to use. Bought two to use indoors because they are rated to handle large appliances and they’re elegant in form. Well made, heavy body and cord, clean appearance with solid buttons to control each of two outlets directly or via the Tapo app, Very easy for even a layman to connect to the internet and setup and plenty sensitive to receive full bars even when set behind a metal appliance. I use one to turn on and off a Bunn commercial coffeemaker to save energy and another for a 150w 5-channel amplifier that doesn’t have signal sensing capability. Has worked like a charm, on/off commands via the app whether on a schedule or manually entered on the phone are instantaneous as is status feedback. Only possible improvement would be to make them in the US; otherwise very happy. They are a wise investment to reduce severely inflated electricity costs and manage equipment that isn’t close at hand.

Setup was a little funky. It’s my first matter device. Once we figured out you can just add it to Alexa app with out the tapo app it was smooth as silk. Works awesome. I’m ordering another for my second outdoor plug to give me 4 addressable plugs that I can AI control. Instructions could have been better and the box looked like Amazon played an impromptu game if soccer with it but they worked and are playing away in the back yard. They connected right up to my IOT network on my TP-Link mesh router.Great product as usual from TP-Link

Good WiFi Enabled Plug
I have other TP-Link Tapo devices, both indoor and outdoor. This plug has worked flawlessly. This plug is in my garage, but I do have this same plug outside, and it too has worked flawlessly for some time. You do need the Tapo app, which you can get from the major app stores. Setup is straightforward using the app on your phone. It only takes a few minutes. You do need internet service and a wifi connection. Once the plug is set up, functionality can be controlled via the Tapo app. The plug outlets do have covers for those times when an outlet may. not be in use. They are somewhat loose-fitting, which I don’t like. However, Tapo recommends the plug be installed with the outlets facing down, which prevents weather from entering the outlets. I’ve been very satisfied with all my TP-Link Tapo devices. I would buy this plug again if needed.
