No more forgetting keys
This door handle and lock was super easy to install and works perfectly. You were able to program the lock to automatically lock within a certain timeframe of closing the door. It seems sturdy and has stayed like new for the last couple of months of use. It makes a slight noise when you lock/unlock. Overall, this is a perfect addition to our home.

Best lock on the market for less than $100 price range
Best lock on the market for less than $100 price range. Yes that is how good the Amazon Basics keypad locks are. Do not understand how some reviewers rate the “value for money” less than 5 stars. Just makes no sense. There is no other keypad lock for less than $50 and certainly none that compares to the quality and features of this lock set. You are getting both the deadbolt keypad lock and the passage lock as one set at one low price.I installed this lockset without even looking at the installation instructions. I just looked at the parts diagrams on pages 4 and 5 of the included manual. Took less than 30 minutes to install and maybe 10 minutes to delete the default programming and user codes and enter my personally selected codes.I had purchased a Kwikset Powerbolt 2 keypad lock set 18 months ago before the prices increased. This Amazon lock is as good as the Kwikset Powerbolt 2 keypad set at 1/2 the price currently.

1 year update: Purchase a lock from Home Depot, not Amazon!!! I originally left a 5 star review because I thought the product was great. However, I’ve had it exactly 1 year and it is defective. Amazon refuses to replace the item. The customer service experience was absolutely terrible, I was even hung up on by a “supervisor”. It’s very discouraging because you want to purchase a product for home security that will last. This product is not it unless you want to continue replacing it and being charged more each time. I originally paid $59 and now it’s almost $80. I followed all instructions, replaced the batteries twice and it still will not work without using the key. Amazons solution was for me to return the product leaving me without a lock on my door for a “partial” refund. They would not offer a replacement or a credit to cover the price difference.Original review:The only issue is the instructions – they’re visual alphabetic instructions. It was pretty easy to figure out, but annoying at first. They do have YouTube videos for back up. We had everything swapped out within 15 minutes. Works great, love the black matte and the handle style – I also like there’s a back up key. You do need 4 AA batteries.

Will not work in pre-drilled door with single cylinder interconnected handleset
This Amazon Basics electronic combination lock will not work on doors that have pre-drilled holes for the deadbolt and the handle that are less than about 1.5 inches apart, from edge to edge of holes.I was trying to replace what I think is called a ‘barn-door’ type door lock and this amazon lock did not fit. The existing holes were too close together (about 1 inch, edge to edge). I think the edges of the holes on the door should be at least 2 inches apart. Specifically the door lock I was trying to replace was this one: Weslock Colonial One Piece Interconnected Single Cylinder Keyed Entry Handleset.See photos to see the type of door handle I was trying to replace, in case you have the same style. If you want to replace that style of door handle / lock with this electronic Amazon combination lock, it will not fit.Installation of this door lock was pretty straight forward. One person can do the job solo. If the holes are predrilled in your door, you only need one screwdriver. There is manual booklet with step by step instructions. And the box also comes with a handy template for measuring and drilling the holes in the correct place, if the door does not have holes in it. Since the review forces me to give it a star rating, I am going for 3 stars because nowhere on the description of this product does it say what the minimum distance of the holes should be, from edge to edge or center to center. The printed template has the distance of the holes, center to center at 4 inches apart. But I think that distance can be as small as 2 inches.I did like the feel and finish of the door handle. A smooth brushed metal. And I do like that the keypad has memories for many codes, so different people can have their own key code.

Great handle /lock for price
Works great, looks great! Auto lock is awesome and the bolt is strong. a little hard to work the code functions and such but I really just needed a one code for all which this is effective for. It is a plus to have the option to have temp codes and alternate codes if I ever feel like trying to figure that out.
