Real buttons! Quick unlock action. Good battery life.
Unlocks super quick when you type the code. Holds battery a long time. Nice and simple. I like the real buttons, that was the main feature for me. Touch screens don’t seem to work very well on these, with less reliable number pushes, wear and tear, etc.

Great lock and easy to install!Lock needs to be out so that the lock can be programed… wish the instructions made it easier to understand!

Installs and programs well if directions are followed. Recommend watching YouTube videos if you find Kwikset directions confusing. Once installed, locking mechanism works very well.

There are lots of options for this kind of electronic lock. This is not the cheapest by far. So why would you spend more? Simple – this lock is rock-solid and super simple to use. I specifically chose one that does not work with an internet connection. That’s because when the internet gets disconnected the “internet locks” can wear down their batteries trying to re-acquire the connection. This one is simple to program and super-simple to use. Kwikset has a name in the industry and this unit is an example of just how they’ve earned it! Honestly – don’t mess around with all those cheapo units with unpronounceable names (those are generated only because the Amazon store requires them). Get this lock. If you want an internet one – I’m sure Kwikset has one of those too.

Never be locked out again
I have installed many of these kwikset units and I love them! The key is to make sure you line the bolt up with the door jamb correctly so the bolt will slide in it out of it easily. If you do that, they seem to work fantastic!

refused to learn how to lock my door
My door has the deadbolt on the left side when you look at the door, it opens to the inside (you pull the door).I spent 3 hours on making this work and failed. Noton the installation, but on attempting to “teach” the lock how to lock and unlock properly.The lock button was unlocking the doors and my code was locking the doors. I followed the instruction to the letter dozens of times to rehandle the lock. It worked once but I received an error code when locking. 5 red beeps. I redid the entire installation and had no error codes but ran into the issue with incorrect locking and unlocking again. I reset the lock following instructions. I failed and failed and failed and failed!I read the manual dozens of times! System resets, rehandling for the lock several times. The system sometimes refused to reset. Removed batteries, doors locked and unlocked, bolt extended, locked, I sacrificed a chicken, went to Mass on Sunday, etc.3 stars because I think the lock is good, but only if I don’t have to teach it to lock and unlock.
