After buying three of these budget keypad locks, I wanted to leave a quick review. Installation was straightforward, the design looks clean, and programming the codes was simple and intuitive.My wife and I just wanted something basic and reliable for a side entry door. We didn’t feel like we needed Wi-Fi capability, so we chose these mainly because of the price. After installing the first one, we were happy enough with it that we added a couple more.I’ll admit, my expectations weren’t very high given the cost — but they’ve turned out to be a great choice. Simple, affordable, and they do exactly what we need them to do.

It does its job and looks nice. It’s easy to install and uninstall. The online application doesn’t work very well, or at least it was difficult for me. If it were easier, I could change the passwords from there or give someone access in case of an emergency. But I could only do it from the door, which isn’t convenient when you’re not home.

Mostly good with one issue
I just installed a similar kwikset model before we moved out of our previous home. Comparatively, this door handle looks and feels good and of an equal quality. I wanted to wait before writing a review, as I installed it in spring. A couple of things to note: This lock has a squared look, as opposed to most, which are rounded. Over time, with use, it twists and becomes out of level, which is aesthetically unpleasing and, in the case of my door, chipped up the paint in the corners as it rotated (see before and after pictures). I thought I might have been at fault for not tightening it enough, so I reinstalled it, being sure to really crank it down and it happened again. One thing I was concerned with regarding this lock was it’s performance in cold weather. I am happy to report that it worked flawlessly at -15 degrees fahrenheit. It was easy to program and install. Overall I’m happy with the lock.
