You need to know that it does not turn off after frothing. If you do not t urn it off manually, the warmer will toggle on and off and “cook” the cream to the sides and bottom of the machine which makes for difficult cleaning. I turn mine on when I pour the water into my french press. I turn it off as soon as frothing ends. Cream separates from foam as I press my coffee. I use a knife to hold back the foam and get the cream into my cup of coffee then release the cream for a nice frothy top.I have learned that if I turn it off immediatly and rinse it out immediatly (before sitting to enjoy), there is no need to “wash” the machine. The propellar is magnetic and if you remove it for cleaning it will stick to everything magnetic and most likely be soon lost.Be sure your machine is dry before using again. I invert mine on a towel after rinsing then return it to its base in the evening and its ready to go the next morning.You will loose the frothing if:* your machine has the cream “build up” from not immediatly rinsing.*your machine isn’t dry before use*you use some cheaper creams

Great Frother, Easy to Use And Very Quiet.
Good frother. It only does hot foam and stirring hot milk. If you are also looking for cold foam you need to look elsewhere.Once you press the button, it froths quickly and is very quiet. It makes very dense foam which I like very much and has quite large volume.When washing it just make sure water or detergent doesn’t get into the on/off button or the bottom of the jar..

Still waiting on a replacement since mine stopped working after a few days
After just the first couple of days of receiving this frother, it stopped working. I gave one to my sister and the same thing happened to hers. I reached out to request a replacement in case ours was just a random issue (since our other sister recommended this brand and has had hers for several years), but it has been over a few months and we still haven’t received replacements. They are glitchy and work SOMEtimes but not consistently. I’m going to try contacting the seller to request a refund instead of a replacement if I don’t receive a status on my order.

Some flaws
Good price, solid construction. As others have pointed out, once the milk frothing is done, the unit shuts off. However, after pouring out the milk/froth and washing out the unit (more on that in a second), if you put the unit back on the stand it will eventually turn itself back on and burn itself out. You MUST remember to manually turn the switch back to the off position.The frother does the job quite well. However, I’ve found upon washing it out, that a residue of milk adheres to the bottom and must be scrapped out with a fingernail and paper towel combination. I get the same issue whether I use skim or whole milk.The unit only comes with a frother. You can remove the wired coil thingy and you get what amounts to a milk heater spinner, which maybe is by design, but there’s no information provided to that effect that I can find. Nespresso frothers, for example, come with two spinners—one for cappuccinos and one for lattes.Lastly, I have not been able to find anywhere to buy replacement spinners.

Super easy to use. Easy to clean. Takes up minimal space on the counter
Easy to use. Easy to clean. Looks good on the counter. You can make enough milk froth for about 4 cups of coffee. It does a nice job of heating the milk, and makes a really nice pillow of whipped milk that rests nicely on top of the cup of coffee. It’s not all froth though, there’s plenty of liquid milk to create a really nice balance of cream and coffee. You don’t have to use all the cream at once, the device will turn on periodically and keep the milk and froth ready for the next cup. I’ve used all types of milk, cream, half and half. It’s easy to take out the whipping mechanism for cleaning. I clean after each use as there will be a little bit of milk on the bottom because of the heating, as should be expected. I’m happy with the purchase.

Since receiving this electric milk frother, I’ve used it every day. It heats the milk perfectly and makes it very frothy. I have used it with homo milk, almond milk and even with skim and the froth consistency is exactly the same. I highly recommend this as Bodum is an excellent company with quality products and look at the price! What can Keurig or Nespresso milk frother do that the Bodum can’t at 1/3 of the cost? Also this is super easy to clean and dry with little effort which is a bonus!

I am sure this is a great machine, but on receipt found it was not fitted with an english plug, my mistake but something to be aware of and the fact that it came from so far away, I thought it was something that Amazon distributed, again my mistake. All good though and returned accepted.

I have the Nespresso unit at home for which I paid roughly $100. I never use the cold froth option so the fact that the Bodum doesn’t have that was of no concern at all. The Bodum unit was intended for my office at work as I couldn’t justify spending another $100 to have the Nespresso one at work as well. This turned out to be the perfect decision as this one froths just as fast, as quietly and as effectively as the Nespresso. I would say that the Nespresso unit is heavier and feels a bit more solid, but they both render the same result at a big different in cost.I used to use half and half in my frother but every time I had to clean it, it bothered me to see how much fatty gunk half and half left behind that I had to scrub off. It made me wonder about the buildup on my insides! I’ve since gone non-dairy and have found some amazing barista blend oat milks that froth exactly like half and half and with the same richness but nothing fatty left behind. A quick rinse and I’m done! Zero cholesterol and it makes me feel a whole lot better about my daily lattes. I’m doing the same with the Bodum and getting great results. Thick, rich and velvety but without the guilt and health concerns. Keep in mind, we are what we repeatedly do! Cheers.
