Great Printer
Luckily, I have not had the experience noted in the negative reviews. This little printer replaced a Canon all-in-one that was about 10 years old. That Canon printer performed just like the negative reviews for this Brother printer. I did have a couple of minor issues setting this printer up for network printing. But I ended up being successful. This is hands down the fastest color printer I have ever owned. Order of magnitude faster than the Canon. Quiet too. I can print from my phone anywhere in the house and from a hard wired PC. First set of cartridges are still going and it’s been over six months. Brother is constantly updating the software and trying to update the firmware from anyplace other than the printer was not fun. But let’s face it, none of these consumer grade ink jet printers are perfect. And for the price, I have nothing to complain about. Very happy with this purchase and will be buying another one to replace the other Canon I have.

The scanner is excellent.
I bought this printer mainly for its scanner, and I am extremely impressed. The scan quality is excellent, crisp, clear, and accurate. The built-in OCR (optical character recognition) works flawlessly and saves a lot of time when converting documents to editable text. Setup was simple, and everything has worked exactly as expected. I am more than pleased.

Useless
If I could do negative stars I would. I have no idea how well this product works because I have not been able to use it since my purchase in early December, 2025. I received only 2 starter ink cartridges with the printer. When I inquired about this, I was told this is standard and what the seller provides. Initially I tried to order the missing cartridges off Amazon, only to discover you can ONLY use these special starter ink cartridges for 1st use with the printer. Since this time I have been in a ridiculous back and forth directly with Brother who has sent me the wrong ink, told me it would be overnighted (it took over a week), and only provided one of the two needed cartridges. Now I am told they are out of this ink with an undetermined in-stock date. Also, that I must wait for an email notification to find out when it is back in stock. Further, I was told I cannot purchase this ink anywhere else. I don’t know if this is a tariff issue or what, but I will not buy a Brother printer ever again, and definitely nothing from this seller. This has been an exceedingly unpleasant experience and the initial customer service person through Amazon with whom I worked was also extremely rude. Negative 10 ⭐️

A Great Purchase So Far !
I had an HP 8610 printer that lasted me over 10 years. I wanted something that could print color, black and white, and 1 sided and 1-2 pages efficiently without breaking the bank for ink cartriges. After many weeks of research, I decided on this one. At 139 bucks, it was a good deal. The ink isn’t too expensive, and cheaper than HPs. I was impressed by all of the 5 star reviews I read on many websites. I got the printer from Amazon and it was a smaller size which I liked. Not huge and bulky like the last one I had. It was easy to insert the cartridges, and connecting took a bit more time but I got it working. I enjoy it. I did like HP’s paper tray a little better, but this is a good one for what I need. A good buy.

Good replacement but my old printer was a tough act to follow.
Replaced my MFC-J5330DW (print head had worn out) with this MFC-1410DW. The new one has no Fax, but I do not need it now, so I bought this to save some money. The printing is fine. The scanner is slower, especially if scanning and printing in high quality. The was frustrating. Also, it was not intuitive how to scan and ‘add pages’ to the scan, but I did find how to do that. The interface was different form the j5330DW also but that was not hard to figure out. Overall, it’s a good deal for the price and does the job, although it’s a bit slower.

Great for the Money
I had an HP for years but HP makes you buy their INK (they will not accept clone Ink) so I switched. I like this printer, it’s not perfect but it’s perfect for the money. It does everything that it’s supposed to do. I think that it’s the prefect small job Printer for needing to print and scan to store and send documents.

Easy to setup, simple app and relatively small size!
–Set up is easy as the app and/or the printer itself will walk you through it step by step.–Small size: This can be easily stored on a desktop or tucked away as it is not very big.–Printer cartridges: the EASIEST printer cartridge installation ever…bar none–Love that you can easily see your ink levels of each respective color in the app.–Easy to print from your phone as well, which is super convenient.Overall this is an excellent printer. Highly recommend!

Best Printer of my entire life
This is my first Brother Printer of my entire life and it is awesome! Connected quickly to my iPhone and my iPad and printed flawlessly from each and the drop-down drawer in the front of the printer for the ink cartridges is a total game changer. I’m so glad I switched from HP printers to this Brother Printer.. it looks beautiful on my new Printer cart from Amazon and my new shredder from Amazon that sits on the floor next to the printer stand acknowledged

I am so sorry I bought this printer, my 10 year old HP got taken out by a lightning storm as did the tv etc.. I did a review of the Brother printer and on line it looked amazing. Well it’s not, hours to down load drivers for a new printer, difficult to set up with both a desktop and laptop, not plug and play at all. The quality is cheap, the screen interface is questionable at best. It’s a Google relationship so be prepared to sign your identity away to make it work. I did get it working but the only thing good I can say about it is that the ink dry’s well.

Great budget all in one printer though it’s slow on the color side, otherwise everything else is good. Well it is what you pay is what you get kinda thing yet it’s enough for me since I mostly only print black and white documents anyways.
