Good driveway alarm but no way to change sensitivity
This is a good driveway alarm and it’s perfect for those who don’t want to put up security cameras or doorbell cameras but would still like to know when someone is stepping foot onto your property. The motion sensor and receiver come paired already which is great and you can purchase additional motion sensors to cover different areas. The range is pretty good, I don’t think it’s 1200 feet as advertised but it still works a few hundred feet away even when the motion sensor is outside and the receiver is inside. The motion sensor is small and white and doesn’t look suspect. You can turn the lights off too and it just appears as if it would be for a flood light. I do like that it uses microwave and infrared to cut back on the false alarms. The receiver is well made also. I keep it plugged in inside the house so I don’t have to waste batteries on it. There are multiple different “ringtones” or sayings you can choose from and you can set it up outside to scare the crap out of your delivery guy or inside to scare the crap out of yourself. I went with the latter option but thankfully you can turn the volume down a bit to make it less startling. The battery life in the motion sensor so far is great and it has last six months just on 2 AA’s. This is a great purchase for your elderly loved ones or if you don’t want to pay for or deal with all the issues of a video security system. The only thing that I dislike is that there is no way to change the sensitivity of the motion sensor. If I lived on a main road I’d be getting false positives a lot due to people walking by. Other than that it’s a great deal for the price.

Nice, affordable system. Moved it already to a lower-traffic area in back, or it goes off all day.
I ordered these originally to put in the long driveway of my home. I thought they could alert me audibly when someone came up the driveway. I was thinking of friends, party guests, delivery drivers, family – not ops, creeps, or criminals. This is the white, 1200′ range outdoor sensor & receiver motion detector set. It is a simple plastic set that is designed for all-weather use.I love this because it doesn’t need internet – just batteries or keep it plugged in. We’re using rechargeable batteries for now So, it cannot be tampered with by cutting the power or disabling the internet. I also love that it doesn’t HAVE to be bolted down – just secured how you want it. We used outdoor zip ties. I’m glad that’s all we did because…Here’s what I found out right away. You can get desensitized to it if you keep it in a high-activity area. This thing picks up a lot of stuff – not all of which needs my immediate attention, like the mailman, Amazon drivers, or my neighbors. The front triggers too often and, at first, it startled me. Then, it annoyed me. Soon, I came to not respond to it really and turned it down. So, I decided to use it in the back of the property instead, which is wooded. In the back, nobody should be back there. If they are, then somebody needs to respond. But, you guessed it, there are all kinds of wildlife back there. I’m going to see whether I can set it to not alert on them. My home system has both weight and height thresholds. Here’s what I would say: If this is your first home security set-up – and, yes, it is a good entry price point, the first time you hear this thing go off in the middle of the dark night, like ALL alarm systems, it will scare the living daylights out of you. Your heart will be beating out of your chest. But, it has no camera, so have a plan.I recommend.

Too many false alerts.
I was really hopeful that this driveway monitor was going to be different. With all the advertised features and technology I really thought false alarms would be considerably fewer if not completely eliminated, but I was wrong. The unit powers up and connects with zero issues which is awesome. That makes setup easy, but the lack of sensitivity adjustment false alarms are a nuisance. If a bird flys by, or a leaf drops, it will alarm. Even at 40 feet from the road and aimed parallel it would still pickup vehicles going by on the road. So the motion detection is over the top. As for the range mine is about 200 feet apart and seems to have no connection issues. It has been weather resistant. I like the changeable tones and alerts. Would be a good value if it didn’t give false alarms so frequently.

Discrete motion sensor
This is by far one of my favorite gadgets! I have a great home security system, but there is a spot in my backyard that I can’t get a camera to. It’s a narrow walkway by my fireplace, I’d guess about 500′ away from the master bedroom, so the range is great and the sensor has been accurate thus far. I do have cats that walk around my backyard at night, but I’ve yet to get any bad notifications when anything shorter than 2′ passes by the sensor. I wish the volume was a little more adjustable, but the programmed volumes aren’t bad.

Really useful for a long driveway
This was set up to monitor a long driveway and give a heads-up when someone pulled in, and it started being useful almost immediately. The receiver was easy to place inside the house, and the sensor picked up approaching vehicles and foot traffic reliably during everyday use. Having that early alert is especially nice when deliveries show up or when visitors arrive before they are at the door. The different chime options are a nice extra, but the real value is just getting dependable motion alerts without running wires all over the property. Weather resistance also matters for something that has to stay outside, and it held up fine through normal outdoor conditions. For the price, this feels like a very worthwhile security and convenience upgrade for homes with longer driveways or detached areas to monitor. A strong fit for anyone who wants simple awareness without a complicated system.
