Simple, Works, Loud, Good Design. Every RV needs these.
Summary: They’re inexpensive (currently $23 for 5) It’s loud enough but not piercing, mounts easily, has an on/off switch, and the sensor and alarm can be separated by 37-inches.If you’ve been in an RV long enough, sooner or later you’ll have half-a-dozen incidents where you end up with some kind of water leak. Perhaps a slow-drip under the sink. Perhaps rain works it’s way around a seal. Perhaps you left the gray-water drain closed and the shower starts to overflow. Perhaps you didn’t use a pressure regulator, so now your sink leaks. Or perhaps you replaced that ugly RV faucet but your install wasn’t tight enough so it starts spraying everywhere. Even condensation can sometimes be a problem.Anyway, for RVs (or even homes), I’d suggest placing one near any shower, sink, water-heater, water-pump, water-tank, or water-drain.* Sturdiness & Quality: It looks like an inexpensive manufacture. How well these hold up and work long-term remains to be seen. In a critical area, I installed 2 of these sensors.* Utility: Having an alarm when there’s a leak could save you hundreds or thousand of dollars in repairs (and frustration).* Features: It has an on/off switch, a 37-inch cord, makes a loud alarm noise when the sensor is wet, and takes a 9v.* Install: Wipe surface where you’ll be securing the alarm with isopropyl alcohol to ensure a good stick. Use cable ties on the cable. Perhaps put the sensor partially under a piece of electrical tape or other tape, while not completely covering the sensor.* Appearance & Material: It’s mostly made of a white plastic material, a thin wire, and a simple sensor.* Accessories and Hardware: It comes with some double-sided sticky material which seems like it should hold.* Price: The current price is amazing. $24 for 5. (I think I saw another pack $15 for 3).Because I’ve only had this a short time, I cannot comment about battery-life or durability. On Sept 21 2023, I have an cheap ACDelco 9v that shows 9.61v, next time I check the battery or when it runs out I’ll try to remember to update here.

WORKS EVEN IN BLACKOUTS
PRO – Simple. Effective. Loud. These basic water leak detectors don’t depend on WiFi or Cell phone service to alert homeowners of a potential flood from leaking or burst water pipes. Come with double-stick pads for mounting.CON – The wire that links the water sensor plate to the battery compartment could be longer. No “low-battery” warning feature.

Put battery in the right way or it won’t start
Just installed. Very easy to set up and works right out of the box. I plan on buying more of these low tech devices. High tech IoT solutions for detecting water leaks require Wifi connection – these low tech ones do not. Their design is breathtakingly simple and effective – a drop of water sets off a loud alarm; wipe the sensor board dry and you can re-use. As the instructions are skimpy and hard to figure out (English is not the manufacturer’s first language), know that (1) the battery goes it head first, line it up with the +/- signs printed on the plastic box, the end of the battery should be the last thing you see before you shut the lid of the battery compartment; (2) if you can’t even push open the lid of the battery compartment because it’s hard to get a grip on it, pry it open with a letter opener or penknife, it comes out easily. Will update this review once I’ve lived with these products for a few months, to see if they really work.

Good device at a good price
For the money how can you go wrong? Long cord so placement is easy. The sensing pad works like it should and it’s loud.Don’t know how long the 9volt battery will last. I’m hoping awhile or it won’t be such a great deal.I like that I can place the sensor far far away and even extend the wire if I want. As is its plenty long to let you put the pad most anywhere and still have easy access to the unit for battery replacement.

Works…and alarm is LOUD!
Really loud. Doubt you’ll miss this if it ever goes off. I have two on my laundry room…one in the drains for backups and one under the washer for leaks. Great for under sinks, water heaters, etc.

SAVED OUR BASEMENT!
These are AMAZING. We have water that comes into our basement with heavy rain. We figured out where it was coming in, but not how to predict it. I found these, and they are SO EASY to use! We put 4 of them along the wall, under the carpet, that we’re concerned with, and then one under our laundry sink (by clothes washer). Works like a charm: we get alarms when the water comes in so we can mop it up before it becomes a problem with a soggy floor. Have recommended to literally everyone I know with any water leak issues! These would also work really well under a kitchen or bathroom sink that you’re concerned about.

No low battery alarm
Seems to work OK, but apparently there is no low battery alarm, so make a note to change batteries regularly.

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE BATTERY! Bought these alarms to place around the house. Yes, they are made in China so they may seem a little flimsy, but that doesn’t seem to have affected their intended use. As soon as they arrived, we tested all 5 of the units using a small glass of water. Each one worked PERFECT. The alarm would wake the dead, but that is a good thing. What we discovered however was if the 9 volt battery was not up to par, the alarm sent off a quiet pathetic little squeek then quickly died. We have a volt meter and checked the battery that was in the unit that failed. It measured 8.2 Volts. It came right out of a new package of 6 Duracell 9 volt batteries. The other 5 measured a little over 9 volts. They all worked fine in the units. My advice would be to check the units on a regular basis. Although they shouldn’t draw any current when not sounding the alarm, the battery may slip down in volts as time goes on. Apparently even 1 volt down from 9 volts, the units fail. It is NOT the fault of the unit. **Although the battery measuring 8.2 Volts would not set off this alarm, I was still able to use the battery in my electric guitar for the onboard tuner. Again, IT’S ALL ABOUT THE BATTERY. You need to ensure it is a full 9 Volts or it it probably won’t sound the alarm.

They do appear to be rather lightweight, but they work perfectly and come with double sided tape for mounting. Loud too with an on / off switch. Tested each before mounting and no problems. Great for those out of the way places. Mounted mine under the sinks and in the floor tray for my water tank which is hidden away. Only had them a couple of months so can’t comment on battery life, but no reason to suspect it will drain power unless activated. A little tip on mounting the sensor; I cut a small piece of paper towel and wrapped this a couple of times around the sensor and then duct taped this to the surface – See pic.

Useful and of high function to protect you from long and expensive repairs if there was a leak and you were not aware for a while on cabinets and flooring. Very easy to install.

Inexpensive, and has proven itself as a good warning for water leaks which could cause serious damage

The sound is like a siren, its is loud, and much more sensitive than the previous alarms i have boughten 5 years ago. And lastly, you attach it with double sided sticky tap, where as the other ones , i had to screw in to the wall etc. works great,
