Tip for installing
Works great so far but the installation instructions need work. The app would not find the device so I tried to manually add it by searching through a long list of devices and there were several different water/ leak detectors and eventually got it to work by trial and error. To save you the time until the instructions are improved try manually adding it in the app and scroll down to the leak detector section and choose the first Item in that section and you should be up and running. I then dipped the sensor in a glass of water to test it before installing it after receiving the notification in the app I installed it on a metal post in the basement using zip ties because the self adhesive tape was missing from the package. I then poured water around it to to test it one final time and a notification appeared on my phone again, so I have confidence this will work. Hopefully I will get a notification when the batteries get low too.

Totally worthless.
Bought this to monitor sump pump while traveling. Works great when its working. However, it goes off line way too often. Once it goes offline there is no way to reset when we are away from the house. What good is that? It should either b reset automatically or allow you to reset remotely. Totally unreliable!

Underwhelming, but minimally works
2 – 3 stars. I installed on the SmartLife App. The device is pretty poorly made internally with battery wires open and unprotected. It’s detection comes only from the two small probe tips at the end of the wire, no where else. It does NOT make any alert noise itself. It does function fine with the SmartLife App to send a notification to a phone. It was kind of underwhelming and minimal. A blue light blinks when it has been activated.

Easy to set up and use
These are just what I needed for my vacation home – they’re basic, and don’t require a hub to operate. I use them along with the SmartLife app to shut the water off in the event of a pipe break or leak. They work with IFTTT apps and you can use Alexa with them as well.My only complaint is that the probe itself doesn’t sit on the surface easily – the two metal prongs that detect water are mounted in the middle of the plastic cradle on the end of the probe, and you need to mount them vertically to actually be sitting on the ground.Given the price and ease of use, though, that’s my only complaint – mount them under the sink, or on the floor under the cabinet and it’ll sound an audible alarm and send the alert into the app the moment they get wet. For the price, that’s exactly what I want them to do.
