Best printer to own. More printing for less
This is the best and I have ever bought so far I love the fact that you can pour in the ink and it lasts a long time and the ink is not that expensive. It prints very good quality pictures and documents. You can print wirelessly from your laptop or mobile phone. It’s compatible with both Apple and Android. I’ve used a lot of printers in my days and this is by far the best one I’ve ever had. Never had a problem with the alignment.

Don’t let negative reviews deter you
Let me address a few of the complaints others had in their poor reviews. 1. The printer seems cheap and flimsy. [No, it’s your typical inkjet quality printer in this price range. Great for home use. Maybe not great for public/commercial use.] 2. There’s no paper tray. [Correct, there’s a rear, angled, paper “rack”, which is very typical for this style printer. This isn’t a $4000 laser printer from 1997.] 3. You have to insert two print heads. [Yeah, so what. They are as easy to install as an ink cartridge. They easily snap into place. You do it once, and you’re done.] 4. It’s complicated to set up. [Actually, the instructions were so easy to follow I was shocked. I expected at least one or two issues, but they never materialized.] So…I’ve used it for a few days, and so far, it’s exactly what I expected. I’ve owned various printers over the last 40 years. I buy one and use it until it dies. This is a standard quality inkjet printer, and my first “ink tank” printer, which is pretty cool, and hopefully will save me money. From experience, I expect this to last 3-7 years. We’ll see.

    HP stands for Hardly Practical…..
Trying to keep this simple but this is just not a good printer. The good: not much. The plastic used and construction are cheap. Feels flimsy.Trying to install the print heads is simply a pain. You have to use a flashlight to try to see where to install both cartridges, then you have to somehow hold these cartridges while making your hand flatter then a sheet of paper to fit them into a space designed not to allow your hand to fit into while praying you don’t break the flimsy plastic. The print quality was really good…for a few prints until a paper jam screwed up the whole printer. It took two sheets of standard paper instead of one and all of a sudden an error message, on the very tiny screen, keeps saying to reinstall the specified print head cartridge, but it doesn’t say or specify which one. So, reinstalled both and it refuses to print. Now it says the print head cartridges need replacing- after less than 20 prints.HP engineered this thing to be very hard to install and set up, very hard to install the print heads cartridges, very unusable, and their software requirements are the most invasive I have ever seen. You seem to have more privacy rights with malware than with the HP software. It runs only on a wireless setting, so no printer cable connection allowed. Setting up the wifi is very tricky and can only be set up on a 2.4 ghz wifi system. So, if you don’t know if your system has a 2.4 or is a 5 ghz system, might want to check that out before buying this. Many routers have both, but you need to know how to set those up, which brings the ease of use into question. This isn’t made for someone who doesn’t have the knowledge base to troubleshoot whether or not their router supports a 2.4 ghz or 5 GHz, or has dual bands in which to connect to, just something to think about. If you are asking yourself what a 2.4 or 5 GHz router is, ask yourself why should you have to bother with router settings in order to print a picture of your dog. Next, if you decide to buy this, be sure to set the WiFi up correctly from the get-go. When I set this up it identified my router in the settings, so I connected it. Unfortunately it defaulted to 5ghz and therefore would not connect to my computer. After having to troubleshoot, I found the HP site of no use, so off to Google I went. Came across a site saying it has to be a 2.4 connection so I tried setting it up on my 2.4 but it still wouldn’t connect. Long story short- took 30 minutes to reset the entire printer, remove the printer from the computer, reinstall the printer, and finally got it to work. So complicated. It does have some good features though, but not many. The fact that it has the ink bottles is good, and they are not difficult to fill so that part HP did right. One other thing that is perhaps the most fantastic part of the printer is…This is the only printer I have seen with handles on the plastic wrapping it comes shipped in so getting it out of the box is very easy. However, keep in mind you will need to keep this plastic wrapping and box….because you will probably have to send it back like I am doing.

    Quality Product
Very pleased with this device. I found it easy to set up and install. Installing the print heads was slightly confusing, but a quick google search for clarity resolved that problem.Had a few printing and scanning jobs waiting since my old printer crapped out. I was able to complete these with ease.Definitely glad that I didn’t pay attention to the negative reviews.

    Pretty good so far
My last printer an HP inkjet suddenly died in the middle of a print job. I had it for about 10 years. When I went to look for another printer; Behold! They now have liquid ink!! The old ink jets are cheap because it looks like soon nobody will want one.So I got this one after a few hours of confusing research. All the HP’s I’ve had over the years have actually worked good. The problem has always been the HP software that goes with them. It either forgets who you are (time to reinstall) drops your login, (time to find that old password) of takes control of your computer and does weird stuff. (Time to think about other brands). But this one looked good and the little ink bottles sounded like a good idea – so here it is sitting in my office! Not all that easy to set up because the instructions are sketchy in spots. got help from YouTube. The liquid ink seems to work good and I would rate the print quality as very good.So far no software problems. It’s been only2 weeks. It is expensive for what you get but so far it works good.

Huge ink supply; Incredibly cost-effective printer.
Bought this printer new a year ago in January ’25. Love it. Use it for ordinary home/small home office printing, and its reliable, trouble-free, and best of all holds a TON of ink in the black and colored reservoirs. And it uses that ink sparingly, apparently. After using the printer for 13 months now, the original black-ink reservoir is still 2/3 full! The three colored reservoirs are still 4/5 full. Unbelievable. After years of maddeningly expensive HP and off-brand printer ink cartridges for other printer models, this one just rocks. I thank HP for creating a truly user-friendly, non-ripoff ink supply system. I’d buy another in a second, and highly recommend this printer to anyone. (Our prior years’ HP Deskjet printers were all reliable as well, but their ink-supply arrangement was terrible.)

This printer is more accurately characterized as an expensive, oversized paper weight. It literally struggles to print anything more than a simple document. Says it’s a weak internet connection but it is within feet of a router (and none of my other devices are having problems). Every time I have tried to use it, something has gone wrong. When it does print, it is incredibly slow. Today, I spent over an hour trying to print one scanned document, and had to give up. It’s too bad cause I was really excited about the Smart Tank. But if it won’t print…

Very light, not as robust as you may expect for the prices and for an HP product. The assembly is not as tight and it gives you the impression that there are some loose screws in a few spots.Slower than most printers. Not sure about the ink claims yet. Time will tell.Definitely not impressed for the money invested.

After owning it for a couple years I am comfortable saying that I’ll never buy an hp printer again. Terrible wireless printing, always have to screw around getting it to work. Aweful print quality. Even after doing all the troubleshooting, alignment, best quality etc, it still prints patchy. Don’t waste money with hp.

This printer was very easy to set up and connected immediately to the Internet without any help. The instructions were complete and even filling the ink tanks was easy and no mess. I would recommend it to anyone.

I was disappointed that this printer costing ,over $600.00, did not have automatic duplex feature like the cheaper jet-ink versions such as HP All-in-one Envy range.
