Mocreo Accuracy & Connectivity – Can’t be Beat!
Full Disclosure – I own multiple Mocreo products, and have been a fan ever since discovering them. They are accurate, dependable and easy to use (most important, next to accuracy, IMHO). And this Mocreo WiFi Water Leak Detector is no exception!It simply does what it’s supposed to, and does it very well and reliably! You simply load the Mocreo app (used for all Mocreo products) to your device, then scan the QR code on the back of the leak detector sensor and/or the WiFi transmitter (which needs to be plugged into power, and within range of the water leak device, with is wireless)… which is why I blacked out the unit’s serial #s and QR codes – because all you have to do is link to them to be able to receive notifications anywhere you have signal on your device, as long as the Mocreo transmitter has WiFi signal (tip: it only works on 2.4 Ghz).The LoRa (long-range) unit transmits via WiFi if the leak detection unit (with the friendly smiley face) detects water either on top of the unit (if water drips or leaks onto its cute eyes, which are actually water sensors), or on the ground below it (there are 2 more metal water sensors on the bottom, for ground-based water. Then the transmitter sends a notification to your phone or other device, to let you know right away (again, as long as both sides have signal).It’s that simple. It looks good, and works great. But that’s not all (had to throw in a little marketing catch phrase here)… the leak detection unit also has a VERY loud 105db buzzer built right into it, so if it’s in your garage, for example, and something begins to leak, and sets off the alarm, it provides a very noticeable audible alarm, in addition to the WiFi-transmitted alert through that piggybacks on your home (or wherever) network to send notifications right away to help prevent unwanted accidents or loss.Really so simple, yet works very well, which is all I ask for in a product like this. The device apps are simple to use, and provide clear communication about what’s going on (and, as I mentioned above, the app simultaneously provides communication and status for all your Mocreo products that are WiFi-enabled (personally, we have multiple fridge/freezer temp warning sensors) – but the other sensors do not interfere with this product and its important notifications.Highly recommend!

Okay. So I have a boatload of mocreo products at this point. Some of which I have gotten for review and some of which I purchased with my own money. In fact, I had purchased them with my own money prior to being offered them for review and really liked them from the start.There seem to be three categories of products from this company. My Greenhouse sensors connect to a large digital Hub that has a screen on it and can be viewed and changed right from the hub unit (app not strictly required). I have another thermometer and humidity sensor that doesn’t connect to the Hub at all and is only usable through the app so it is a standalone product. These moisture sensors are in between. It comes with three sensors and they do have a hub included. However, The Hub is simply a plug-and-play object that goes into the wall and then transmits to the app. It does not have any function control on it other than being plugged in or unplugged. The sensors have moisture sensors on the top, side, and bottom, which is really nice. So no matter which Direction the water comes from, you will be notified. The app sends you notifications to your phone and also emails if you select that option. I really like this company’s products. They are incredibly useful and work very well. Also, like my Greenhouse sensors, these are long range. And when I say they are long range I am not exaggerating. I am in a house about 1500 ft away from the next door property, where the sensors are installed. The signal comes that distance, through the woods, with no Wi-Fi at the house next door. It is incredible. That is why I started using these products to begin with, because I needed the long range for my greenhouse on the property next door and couldn’t find anything even remotely similar to this. I just can’t say enough good things.

Valuable addition to the Mocreo line, but suffers from new product quality bugs.
PROS: Three water level detection: bottom, side, and top. Wireless connection between the sensor and hub. Hub has a nightlight (switchable) and breathing pulse light to indicate connection. Connecting both the sensor to the hub and the hub to the H5Pro hub were seamless (used the QR code scan). The sensor allows you to set a do not disturb night mode, has a freeze sensor, can alarm on several hubs, and allows active hour setting. A Test button on the sensor will send a notification via the app and by email. Build quality is very good for both the sensor and its hub. The sensor messages include water detected and no water detected. Placing the sensor in a plate of water immediately triggered the sensor’s alarm and the hubs and push notifications started 2-3 seconds later.CONS: Sensor arrived with dead AAA batteries. There is no explicitly described test mode other than placing water on the sensor. Review is limited to item’s beginning of life performance.This is a well-designed and full-featured water detection unit for the Mocreo product line. At the time of this review, the company is still struggling with delivering 100% functioning items during the model’s introduction. The 90-day satisfaction guarantee minimizes the purchase risk, but such problems are still an inconvenience. Nevertheless, this sensor and its hub are a great addition to the H5PRO hub and when the quality control bugs are fixed, this sensor has a repeat buy rating of 100%.
