Shelly H&T Gen3 shows delayed or corrupted values?
The device wakes every 2H (battery) or 5 min (USB) to report. Screen updates at 0.2 °C or 3% RH change. It also wakes on threshold-triggered temp change. Manual temp offset calibration is possible.

My Shelly H&T Gen3 disconnects frequently. What should I do?
The device normally sleeps, waking only for temp changes or scheduled updates. During the sleep mode device cannot be reached over the network by IP. Device could be forced to wake up through reset button for 2 minutes Setup mode.

This is a very good H&T device
I am a software developer. I spent a lot of time reviewing different devices, interfaces and their specifications. I wrote software to manage this device, including RPC, Bluetooth and MQTT. I am also very experienced in the dynamics of environmental monitoring for residential and commercial buildings.In my opinion this is an excellent humidity and temperature monitor at a low cost for home automation. The interfaces are well documented, easy to work with and there are numerous open-source implementations and libraries available.If you are a non-developer or a home automation user, this device will monitor humidity and temperature and perform well.I have read comments regarding long times to report changes. Temperature and humidity do not change rapidly in normal residential or commercial environments. If you require fast change detection, you are designing for a problem this device is not intended for. This device reports on wakeup every six minutes. The reason is to save battery life. That is sufficient in normal environments.If you require fast response times, select a different type of device that is plugged into a power source and reports continuously. The device will need to support rapid temperature and humidity changes and those types of instruments are much more expensive. The big issue is accuracy when detecting changes. It does no good to use a cheap device that reports every 5 seconds if the changes are only +-20% accurate. Accuracy requires either time or money.

Other Shelly products are great – Not this one though
It appears that this unit won’t maintain a stable connection with my network.The temp displays in Celsius….The time only displays if it’s connected to the internet, or synced through the app, not sure.I think the temp. and humidity are inaccurate on mine. Maybe the offset adjustments can fix that, but I didn’t get that far to test it.I didn’t want to use the Shelly app, but in an attempt to salvage anything good of this unit (and at least give Shelly benefit of the doubt and use this how it’s intended to be used), I installed the app and ran into issues. You must have an active internet connection to sync. this device with the Shelly app. You have to create an account too. Being unwilling to connect the app to the internet, I gave up.The goal was to run this through Home Assistant, but it only reports the temp/humidity initially when it first connects and then loses connection. Maybe related to network issue, dunno.Shelly, your other products are good, work over wifi, and don’t require internet and an app. What happened to this one?

Locally controlled temp/humidity sensor for Pushing (not Polling)
I have three of these. I just have them hit a local web server and report temperature and humidity. If you want something to poll, this isn’t what you are looking for. They instead only connect to wifi and “push” data when the temperature or humidity changes. I suspect thats due to it running on AA batteries, and trying to get good battery life. As long as you are okay with that, then these work great.I’m using one to check outdoor temperature, and one to monitor the temperature of my dog house. I have the web server kick on a local power switch when it gets too cold, which kicks on a 200w panel heater (designed for chickens) and warms the dog house. Then I have it kick off when it gets too hot. The dog appreciates it when its super cold out. I have it kick on at 55 and off at 65. I wouldn’t want to use it for too narrow of a temperature range though because I’ve seen it wait until 53 to turn on and it sometimes stays on a few degrees higher then 65.I prefer Shelley devices since they can be used without cloud involvement and they are good for hobbyists that find no reason to send sensor data all the way to a data center just so local devices can then reach back out to the data center to act upon the data. When you have everything working locally, response times are in the millisecond range instead of the second range (which can grow to the minutes range during high usage).

Decent product, but lacking support
I deducted one star because it seems as though they do not participate in their own support forums. I deducted another star because the device will not change timezones (displaying Chicago time instead of my time) no matter what I do. Otherwise, the product works as described and can be used as a trigger for Google Home automations

Excellent for bathroom automations!!
I purchased this product for my children’s bathroom. I am using it to monitor the humidity level In the bathroom and automatically turn on the bathroom vent when the humidity goes over 40% and when it drops below 40% the vent turns back off. In addition when my children are showering the motions sensor is not able to see that they are present so if the humidity level is also used to keep the lights on and when the humidity level drops the motion sensor takes control of the lights again.I am new to Shelly products but so far so good 5x dimmers2 4x Plus1 1x H&T G3 1x 2pm and all have been plug play super simple to connect setup and use.Thanks Shelly!!!!

I purchased this humidity and temperature controller as I wanted to have a remote control device to alter heater settings when required. When I received it I immediately realised that it was an excellent visual device too, as it uses the same screen technology used on the latest Kindle Scribe, which makes it easy to read the screen in poor light and very strong light, which the cheaper displays do not use and consequently are a pain to physically read.It also operates off batteries or a USB C connection, the latter being best if you are using it tom perform frequent control functions.It was also easy to set up with the Shelly app and gave accurate readings. All in all good value for the money.
